I guess the PS3. Because you get a Blu-ray player, wireless and wired connections, rechargeable controllers, ability to play music, view photos, watch movies, play games, surf the web, use KB/M for games if they allow it, other things like that.
But I think each console has a great amount of value with their respective online services. The ability to download games from the past and original titles adds, I think, so much value to the consoles.
Right now I would say the Wii. If you have had yours at launch and decided to sell it today your going to make a profit. Thats right. That system you spent 250 on will eaisly sell for at least 300$.
Now thats value!

I don't think you understand value. This isn't really an opinion based question the wii is the last answer you should choose. PS3 is the correct answer.
[QUOTE="zero9167"]PS3. But definitely not when it was 599 USDblues3531
Are you kidding? It still was. Bluray players at the time standalone ones were $1000 USD. You get ps3 and bluray for cheaper than a bluray player by itself. cheaper by $400 USD not some chump change.
Blu ray just makes things more expensive:D. For the best value someone will just buy DVDs.[QUOTE="NothingOnMyMind"]Right now I would say the Wii. Your right. This isn't an opinion. Currently the Wii has the most value. Just look up the word "value" Enough said.

Value doesn't mean lowest price....

Sigh. Let me explain this to you. If you purchase a 250$ Wii right now. You could play it and then sell it in a week (used) for at least 300$.
You can't do this with any other system. Hence the Wii has the most value.
exactly. that's the kind of question we don't even have to make, PS3 is by very far the best deal here.I guess the PS3. Because you get a Blu-ray player, wireless and wired connections, rechargeable controllers, ability to play music, view photos, watch movies, play games, surf the web, use KB/M for games if they allow it, other things like that.

That has nothing to do with value. Thats resale based on supply and demand. Are you like 13?

the value meant here is: which offers the most for less $?Define value and describe what makes a gaming console valuable?
I believe great games makes a gaming console have true value.

well if you do what this person says and buy the wii for 250, play it, than sell it for300+, you get a game experience and 50$ for almost no effort at all/ That is a lot of value.
Then the only value provided to the customer is $50 profit. The product itself is supposed to provide the value, not an amount on resale.

Actually I was talking about the Wii exclusives. Since we're in the subject can you tell me some great PS3 exclusives out right now? They're good games but they're not great, the multiplats are great, exclusives not so much.

Definitely PS3. (Although, I used to think it was 360)

Till this day people are still playing COD4 because it's a great game, and I bet you a big hand full of people hasn't touched Ratchet and Uncharted after they beated it the 4th time. I should know. Like I said those games are good, but they're not great.
And just to let you know I did vote for the PS3, maybe it'll help you sleep better tonight.

I got cod4 2 days before it even launched and only played it for around a month. I lost interest quick once mass effect came out. I havent really touched my 360 outside of nhl 08 since. Waiting for gta4 right now but thats it.
at bold:  like i take this stuff seriously into real life.

You keep bringing in random things into the argument. Since when does a great game have to last months? R&C and Uncharted, along with Resistance are great games. There are more, but what's the point in posting them?

Exactly what I was saying, thats called grasping for straws, utterly reaching.
Definitely PS3. (Although, I used to think it was 360) FOR ME....
In terms of

- Longevity (support is usually beyond 5 years) i dont see the difference vs 360?
- Promise/Potential of 3rd Party games (in future) Meh, pc/360/wii still better IMO
- Exclusives see 2
- Multiplats um, you can get them on other consoles???
- Name brand (Playstation synonymous to gaming) i disagree, nintendo has a much longer history and is more well-known to non-gamers
- Bluray/DVD support i really couldn't care less
- Universal upgradeable Hard Drive meh
- Reliable Hardware (no RROD) good point
- Backwards compatible with older PS games not in australia!
- Playstation Network (free service) but not as good as live/pc services

I don't think features not appealing to you lowers the value.

ReverseCycology
see that's just the thing (why I think this is an interesting argument) value is defined by the individual consumer.
The Wii.
The PS3 has alot of value if you want a movie player, but as a console it's price is too high and the games aren't that much better to make up for the extra cost.
Same with Xbox 360, the games aren't that much better to make up for the extra 10$ per game, and larger initial cost.
