I love XMB. It's simple and clean looking. It could be more "compact" into less menus, but for the most part it works just fine. Obviously improvements could be made to just about any UI, but in the end I prefer the minimalist look. I'm sad that PS4 is doing away with it.

i think sony change so they can put in more ads, not usability.
I don't think its possible for them to make usability any worse than the XMB. People here defend it because theyre used to it, but as a UI its pretty awful. And yeah, maybe they will incorporate ads (I mean proper ads, not just pictures that link to PSN content etc), especially if they're keeping it free.
i think ur confusing the new PSN store for everything ps3 OS related. the ps3's os is pretty good, like people say its simpler, just lacks a few features the 360 has. but the psn store is now a convoluted abortion that was put together by addle brained monkeys.
Don't see how people can prefer the dashboard to XMB, there's so much sh!t there. XMB is much better, not perfect - i'd like to be able to rearrange things and maybe 'hide' things like netflix that I don't use, but all in all I like it.
