Xbox 360. I played the shit out of the NHL games for EASHL. Thousands of hours.

Oh! So you were a connoisseur of low quality gaming experience on consoles. That explains a lot.

I have been playing NHL since the original game back on Sega Genesis. EASHL was epic during the 360/PS3 era. One of the best multiplayer game modes ever. Up there with Battlefield's Conquest. EA has since fucked up the NHL series this past gen. I still play NHL because it is the only hockey game, but not like I used to.

@BassMan: All that matters is that you had fun. Remember that in the future. 😎

360, it was the best online gaming gen ever. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is all I have to say. MW2 as well.

Don't worry, the games ran at 60fps. :)

Overall, probably XB1. But I think Switch will definitely overtake it.

Hard to say. Probably the SNES by virtue of me being 13 and having all the time in the world to play as much gaming as my fat 13 years old self could handle.

I'm sure my 13 year old self would MUCH preferred to have a PS5 though.

I'd say Dreamcast was the console I played most obsessively. Bought it cheep at the end of it's run, and there were discount games everywhere as stores dumped their remaining inventory. I had disposable income from a part time job, and lived rent free at my folks while going to community college. Life just came together for me to be a lonely gamer for a couple years, then lots of splitscreen gaming on it with roomates once I transfered to a 4-year university.

But overall, I probably put the most time into my PS3. Played far an hour or so every day after work to decompress for years, and then never got a gen 8 console (unless you count Switch). Add all that up, and PS3 probably wins.

Between the GC and SNES, I'm going to have to say GC. I played that so much that the analog on my original controller is loose and unusable.

@BassMan: One of the first games I ever played was Blades of Steel on the original Nintendo. It was awesome at the time. Played that to death with my older brother. But never actually picked up another ice hockey game since. What's the best NHL game for Xbox 360?

Definitely the PS2, I've had the console for the longest period of time.

Blades of Steel is classic for sure as well as Nintendo's Ice Hockey and Wayne Gretzky Hockey. I don't really play the NHL games offline these days. I play them mainly for EASHL. NHL 14 and 15 were my favourites. NHL 11 was also fun because of the satisfying hitting physics.

@i_p_daily: I'd say Sega Megadrive. The best there is, the best there was & the best there ever will be.

Finally you're making some sense

The best part about those of you who liked the Genesis is Sega is fairly generous in giving out legal copies of all those games on many different platforms, and even license a company to produce brand new versions of Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn controllers for original consoles, PC/USB, Bluetooth, and 2.4ghz using parts manufactured on the original molds.

I have a perfect condition Sega Genesis I still play. In it is a flash cart, in that is an SD card containing ripped versions of all the ROMs I have legally acquired from my Genesis mini, and the Sega Master System collection on Steam, as well as a stack of original cartridges :-D.
