What consoles have broken on you?

Please post all the systems that have died on you before. Please be honest, even the fanboys... please post the systems you have owned and how many have broken.

Systems that have broken = PS1 (two broke with disc drive and laser problems, 3rd one was ok) and Xbox 360 (one had 3 red lights, next one disc drive error and the latest the E74 red light = 3). Also my ps2 had a problem but i took it apart and fixed it(so i only bought one ps2 that gen).

All the other systems ive had have been fine = Atari, Nes, Snes, Genesis, Gamboy, N64, Gamecube, Ps1, Ps2, Ps3, Wii, xbox, xbox360, Dreamcast, DS, PSP and Sega Saturn.

So for me the 2 most unreliable consoles of all time are PS1 and Xbox360 (although they are still two of my fav consoles, snes and ps2 prolly my all time fav).

NES - after years of play it finally gave out, but that was after I had SNES at that time so no big deal

PS1 - Had read errors but was able to open and fix it.

X-Box - 1 of my 2 X-boxs got RROD, took it back to the store and got store credit.

X-Box 360 - 1 RROD, sent it in and got it fixed.

None :o

I had an NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, Xbox and now 360.

I never take my consoles anywhere and i take very good care of them, but i guess having owned close to every console since atari and nes im bound to have a few mess up:P

Glad i just wasnt one of the people who have had 6-7 xbox360s break or the people who had the ps2 problems at launch (one friend of mine went thru 3 ps2 back when they first came out).

I remember the first year when the 360 was out and i saw all tehse people talking about there consoles breaking, i figured they where lying or not taking good care of them. But then my launch 360 went down after a year and a half, then the new one i got had a disc drive problem when i first got it, so sent that back again and got a new one that has been good until day before xmas, now its got E74 error :(

Luckily i have another 360 to play at the moment, but geez these things are unreliable, over 30 people on my friends list (out of 100) have had at least one 360 break on them) :(

Ive been very lucky then with only 3 messing up on me:P

Dreamcast - Drive died and I had it replaced.
PS2 - Drive also died. Was under warranty.
Game Gear - No sound anymore :(
Xbox 360 - Red Rings. Was under warranty.

All the others (listed below) have been fine...so far.

Xbox/PS3/PS2 Slim/PS1/PSP/Wii/GC/N64/SNES/NES/GBC/GBA/GB Micro/DS/Saturn/Mega Drive 1 & 2/Mega CD2/32x/SMS2/SMS/Jaguar/Lynx/3DO

Oh, the NES is very very fussy and usually takes 10 attempts to get a cart working.

Only Xbox 360, i got the RROD and i got a new 360 and it has been going well ever since.:)

My PS1 is broken, but thats only because me and my bro took it apart.

only my ps2 has broken. but to be fair, it was after 4 years of CONSTANT use.

still my fav console.

Consoles I've never had a problem with: Atari, NES, SNES, PS2, Sega Genesis, Sega master system, Xbox1, Wii

Consoles I had problems with:

Game Cube (busted new out of the box)

PS3 (died after about 500 hours of playtime)

Turbo Grafix 16 (Broke the on/off switch)

Xbox 360 (had one RROD out of the box within 5 minutes)

The 360 RROD'd on me once, and the Wii was smashed against my french door by my little brother, the door cam out okay, no prob, but the Wii didn't fare too well, thank God I still had the warranty, and I lied and said it overheated or some crap, the guy at Gamestop bought it and I got a new one. :DMGSFan92

I would have liked to have seen that. The destruction would be great on it's own, but the look on the guys face at Gamestop, when you inform him that the console died from overheating issues looking down upon a smashed up console, would have been hilarious.

My 360 RRoD'd on me a month or two back.

And not really a console, but my Macbook Pro is undergoing a common problem in the model I have. Grr...

Ps1,xbox 360 and my ps3.Also my original nintendo died on me but it worked for me way over a decade so i guess that doesnt count.My original playstation started acting up a year or so after i bought it and i had to sit the system upside down when i played it.My 360 caught the red ring about a year ago and my ps3 decided it didnt wanna read dics about a week after buying it,luckily the store replaced it for me.My gamecube,n64,original xbox and playstation 2 never broke on me and still work.

Did not work properly after my brother had it chipped. Had to place it diagonally upside down for it to work.

360

1. Made in February 06 IIRC. Started freezing more and more frequently until after five or six months it finally blinked red.
2. Refurb. I believe this one had started exhibiting RROD symtoms but not yet actually RROD'd.
3. Brand new. Ruined my Saints Row and Viva Pinata discs by me sitting 9 feet away and not moving the console at all, it being placed perfectly horizontally in my entertainment center and it scratching them to death.
4. Brand new. And this is my current one from...sometime. Has been working for over a year I believe. Warranty runs out this March, so it better RROD before then. Bet it'll happen in April...

Gamecube-Stopped reading disks

My PS2 fat and Gamecube both stopped reading disks. My 360 remains in good health after a year.

My N64 also failed.
