Nothing in the Atari 2600 to the Playstation (including Dreamcast) era busted on me. Owned all of the consoles in that time frame.

Only consoles that have ever busted on me were in the PS2/Xbox/GC era and the 360/PS3/Wii eras. The PS2 (ended up getting a slim one because Sony wouldn't repair it, was the DRE problem they consistently denied was there) and the 360 (this was replaced for free and returned within a week). My 360 was a launch console.

My fat PS2 crapped out, laser won't read much anymore and the console will freeze up in the middle of gameplay, however my slim PS2 hasn't given me any issues at all. I had 1 360 get the RROD on me after I attempted to update to NXE (it was a launch console), got it back from Microsoft not too long ago and it works just fine now, though I don't use it much since I bought a new 360 (Arcade) for the HDMI port after I upgraded to a 52 in Sharp Aquos.

Besides those 2 none of my other consoles have died on me, that includes: Atrai, NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Dreamcast, Gamecube, DS, and of course the Saturn that hasn't give me any problems. So for 2 consoles to go out through all of that, I really can't complain.

For the record, i literally spilled Soda on top of my Xbox and it still worked perfectly. Still does. It was on at the time as well. Was at a Halo System Link party. People bash the way it looked but that was a well made Console.

Dreamcast, PS1, and PS2. They all had laser problems or something like that.

Dreamcast- kept randomly resetting itself to the point where it was unusable. PS2- Wasn't actually my PS2, but it got the DRE. PS3- This "reliable" console got the disc drive failure. Xbox 360- This ridiculous system has RROD'd on me 3 times.

NES - stopped reading the games. I sent it in for repair and still had to use the blow on game trick. PS1 - never was able to get a system that was able to read the games well. Had to send my first unit back due to failure. PS2 - bought new. Stopped reading discs after about 3 years. XBox - bought used. System didn't work out of the box. Took it back and second one worked fine. XBox 360 - bought new - 1 RROD after almost a year. I have owned the Atari 5200 and 7800, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, GC, Xbox, XBox 360, Wii, and the PS3

My first Xbox 360 got the RRoD after 6 months in February 2007. Luckily I had a PRP (Product Replacement Plan) from Best Buy and was refunded all that I paid for it. I used that money, plus some birthday cash, to buy my PS3. I saved up over the summer and bought an Elite in October 2007.

My first Playstation broke on me after about 3 years. It was used at least 16 hours a day for the first 2 years. One of my idiot neighbors tripped over the controller cord 3 times, sending my beloved PS crashing to the ground. Also had one of the neighbors kids come over and slam her hand on it a few times. I eventualy had to prop a VCR tape underneath it to get it to read discs. I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did.

My first Playstation 2 also broke, after about 1 year. My PS was near death, and I didn't own a DVD player, so the PS2 got some heavy usage. I'm not sure if I had the crappy first run of PS2s, or if I burned out the system myself.

The final system that failed on me was the Xbox 360. I purchased it in February 2008, and it died last week. It wasn't overused like the other 2 systems, it's just a poorly made console.

He he, I haven't broken a console since my old Commodore 64! You all need to treat your systems with more respect.

Consoles that have broken Hmm...

well then i had the PS1(At the end of the gen),Ps2 had a DRE(Easily fixed by opening it up and twisting the knob on the side of the lazer),Ps3 Also had a DRE(But was in waranty)

Xbox (Hardware failure), Xbox 360 x3(Guess what happened:| )

I had a minor issue with the Gamecube (power brick failed bought a new one)

PC(Mostly overclocking experiments on older rigs that cause hardware failure)

And thats about it. I have a couple of consoles from the stone age that still work without a problem, Like my Gameboy(Survived a flood, Thrown around, Electrocuted, a tetris marathon, a pokemon marathon, and a trip through the washer/drier a couple of times)

My NES finally died on me after about 18 years of play but luckily I found one in a pawnshop a day later still in box. I was very happy. I have been through 2 PS2 and my PS3. Also, my Wii died (stopped displaying images) but I just returned it for store credit. The following systems are still working strong: SNES, N64, GC, Xbox, and Xbox 360.
