I'm 22 (not THAT old) and i just play whatever holds my interests. Currently it's Persona 3, but soon it will be inFAMOUS and Cross Edge *fingers crossed*
I'm 24 (I think that's considered "older" around here) and I have a PS3, mostly because I grew up with the Playstation franchises. I'm also enjoying some of Sony's new IP's and Blu-ray.Jared272024 as well, and I play just about anything. I will play Sudoku, Sukoden, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4/WaW, Killzone 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Patapon, Final Fantasy Tactics....really age is a non-issue. What you like to play (genres/styles) is much more important.
I'm 30, and my games run the spectrum. I'm playing: Unreal III, Valkyria Chronicles, Patapon 2, The Original Spyro Trilogy, Noby Noby Boy. There isn't a genre or system that I won't try.

Nice. Did you buy the Spyro games from PSN or you still have the hard copies?
im an older gamer but get bored of games very quick cause everything feels like i already played it.
i want those games some fanboys call casual games cause they feel new :P
I'm 35 and have a 360 right now. I don't know though. Older people are more wise?kgingreencall of duty
Older gamers play mature hardcore games. GTAIV, for example. IronBassI know a lot of twelve year olds who like playing that game too. Older games....uhhh..they play whatever game they think is good.
haha you said hardcore games like Gears and Halo :)Hardcore games like Halo and Gears of War.

Hardcore games like Halo and Gears of War.
haha you said hardcore games like Gears and Halo :)Why do you find said statement humorous?I'm 27, and playing Killzone, MGS4, and RE5 right now. On Mac I'm playing Braid, because thats the only game my Mac could handle.
Hardcore games like Halo and Gears of War.
haha you said hardcore games like Gears and Halo :)Why do you find said statement humorous? Because Halo and Gears are the most casual active franchises out right now. With the exception of maybe GTAI'm 22, and I play mostly my older games like Streets of Rage 2, Batman '89, and Sonic 3. I haven't really enjoyed any of the games this gen aside maybe Mass Effect, so I go back to the classics when I have time to play.
old gamers ? fun games i guess
i dunno if i should lough or be sad about the fact that everyone puts "hardcore" and gears of war in the same sentance,

I have them now from PSN, playing from both my PS3 and PSP. So sweet. You really get a sense of the control different between the PSP nub and the Dual shock playing the same game with each. The PSP nub is so much less precise.
Don't you know? any game that sells millions obviously has no casual appeal. Straight up HHHHAAAAARRRRDDDDDDCCCCCCCOOOOORRRRREEEEEEEEold gamers ? fun games i guess

I pretty much play sports games and like action adventure games like GTA and stuff like that. Shooters are ok but they are all the same after a while. I like the adventure games. Sports games have always been my bread and butter so I guess the whole casual game thing with older gamers is true. I do like rpgs a bunch though but western rpgs. But they are pretty much adventure games anyways. Thing is I am very much a hardcore gamer. kgingreen
I'm 38, gaming since the 2600 ... so I guess I'm older. I've been a hardcore gamer, but seem to find myself categorized as casual now and could care less as my wife, child, friends, hobbies, sports, fishing, etc all hold plenty of appeal. I generally play daily ... but for fun and diversion vs. `intensity' as I used to.
Personally, I got my fill of shooters in the 90's ... and the blood + guts games have little interest to me anymore. After a decade of such games, it got old to me. As has Madden for the most part ... while it's interesting every few years to see how things have developed - each new iteration is not that interesting to me. Perhaps having veterans as friends [and having lived on the Afghani border a decade ago] affected how I feel about the glamorization of war, and the serious mental troubles that real violence often yields - and thus war games seem a little to fakey and depressing having seen war's toll personally.
Currently I play my Wii a lot ... PES09, Boom Blox, some MK and SSBB still. Looking forward to M+ and the new Tiger game. Otherwise I play some RPG's, have played WoW, other adventure and puzzle games across the spectrum/consoles/pc ... the last months it's been PES when alone and other more social games with my wife or when friends are over.
About the only online gaming that really appeals to me is playing friends in sports games or random MarioKart racing. I don't have a lot of fun playing against people who spend hours daily playing the same game ... and find hearing their babble off-putting as I hold little personally in common with so many. Frankly, headsets have turned me off online gaming [yes, I know I can mute people] - it just emphasizes that I'm older and more `truly mature' than most playing.
That said, I'll play just about anything ... and if gameplay or social gaming aspects of it are fun that beats graphics every day in my book.
