An illusion? Don't think so, dude. It's a term in the video game world, which began during the Halo 2 and Killzone time. When I got a free month of Xbox Live, they were still playing HALO 2 on-line @ 5 A.M. in the U.S.A. I think your Halo killer is an illusion by anti MS fan boys. i still play Halo for the P.C. on-line and can get into a game any time day or night. HALO IS LIKE MARIO , people like to bash these games because they are popular.

I would say Sales. If we were going by gameplay I would say it was bested before it existed. Didn't COD4 outsell it though?Ace6301
Yea but that doesent count cuz its Multiplat, or cuz its generic etc.
Halo doesent need killing for me atleast. Preaty meh game for all the hype it has realy
Multiple games are already "Halo killers" for me, because I dont like Halo all that much. I dont like this standard given to Halo that every other FPS has to reach when Halo isnt even the best FPS out there. This "Halo Killer" thing worked with the original Xbox because no fps had multiplayer or controlled with a gamepad as well as Combat Evolved did before it......but now? Its very run of the mill, and the MP is mediocre.
Its all about opinions, You'll have Xbox360 fanboys saying that Nothing beats halo and killzone2 sucks, and Ps3 Fanboys Saying Killzone2 beats halo Here is an example
Sure as hell not Killzone 2 lolzSergeAndKid
From his avatar you could tell...In Gameplay i can't really judge cause i only played it for 2 hours(In my pals house), And you couldn't judge it by Statistics(Money and units sold),Killzone Broke Halo's record on the highest sales in the shortest time(2.2Million in a week) And Call of duty Outselled it,The rest Halo 3 is Top, but that's just statistics, I mean i played it, it wasn't my style, but at least another some million people are liking it
I'm still wondering why you have a MGS4 Avatar and an Xbox360 GamerCard, :|You can't kill Halo, it's a solid franchise now with a massive fan base.

Does it need to have a bigger fan base? And be a FPS? Or does it need to create a bigger public reaction? Or score better? Or maybe sell better? Or be more actively discussed about? More hype prior to launch? It seems people use the term Halo killer, and they don't even know what it is. So what is it?TheKingAPopAll these combined into ONE GAME. And that game can only be... ANOTHER HALO GAME!!!

wondering why ur sig has a pic indicates u like rap and still thinks his opinion is credible
Why does it have to be killed in the first place, it's a solid shooter with a GREAT community, for the most part.

I have an xbox 360 and a PS3. Just haven't got around to getting my PSN card yet.
I'm not sure that big round planet looks pretty tough, I seem to remember one getting destroyed though? Been a few years since I played Halo3, but yes I think one was destroyed. I'm not sure why it would be so hard seeming as though one is already gone, just get a big bad space gun.
the way i see it the Halo killer has to be an exclusive fps which sells more than Halo3... because when it comes to gameplay/story/online there are many other great fps games that easily match Halo3 with most of them being even better..
as always we express our opinions and mine is that games such as BF:BC, KZ2,COD4, TF2 &R2 are all better fps titles than Halo3..

And in my opinion there not.
I have them all as well., COD4 for the PC.
R2 was like a Halo ripp-off for the PS3. Generic. Decent title though. The online is smooth though can be chaotic.
TF2 is not my style. Way to much focus on objective based game types. It's a solidly made game though. Valve is the best.
KZ2 again is just as "generic" as Halo an R2. Only thing amazing about it is the Graphics for a console game. Damn good. AI is good as well but Halo's enemy AI gets a bad rep around her and is indeed almost as good as KZ when in Legendary.
COD4 IMO is the worst one you listed. Setting the game in a realsitic setting and then giving magic powers like super bullets and Matrix Style reloading with a ranking system that doenst mean **** is inane IMO. Nice framerate though I guess.
Halo play's well. Is polished beyond most games, has a story that people care about and have cared about for nearly a decade, and addictive multiplayer mode that feels like polished as hell old school deathmatch/team deathmatch with a vasty superior feature set to any console shooter to date.
Fans of FPS who hate on Halo are really missing out and it's usually do to something completely arbitray. Not saying thats why you dislike it but amongst my circle of friends, the most common reason as to why they hate it is the "spaceman with guns" issue. Or they think the grunts look stupid. Or that there is too much purple. The way Halo plays is hard to hate, and 9 million + sales on ONE console, and a cult like following should be enough to suggest disliking Halo is a preference and doesn't have anything to do with lacking quality as a software product.
