I'm gonna pick Splatoon. What say you?

Splatoon. Ridiculously fun.
Folks are always dogging Nintendo for "rehashing old games" but when they put out something fresh and innovative like this it gets ignored in favor of games like Knack, The Order and Ryse for some odd reason.

Splatoon didn't get ignored...
It's one of the highest selling games of the generation, and like for a year, people wouldn't shut up about it on here or GAF or Reddit. It was only when Overwatch stole its thunder that that changed.
@Ghost_Dub: who is saying knack? For Splatoon is a pretty decent idea, but Nintendo totally dropped the ball on execution. It just doesn't stack up to other multilayer shooters and the single player is garbage.
For best new ip off the top of my head, I would go with overwatch.
@aigis: I need to play that... I keep hearing that if I like Splatoon, I will love Overwatch, but I haven't had the time to get it yet lol

Seriously. WTF is he talking about? Who says Knack, the Order or Ryse outsold Splatoon?

It's not even outsold, I would assume by ignored he means it doesn't get talked about much. I mean, NOW it doesn't, yeah, but it's also almost two years old. Literally for the first year it existed, no one shut up about it though lol.

When did I ever mention sales?

Okey doke, look above a few posts. You're still wrong fella.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ori, Sunset Overdrive and Overwatch.
Ori would be my close second choice. Fabulous game.
@charizard1605: OW isn't winning GOTYs for no reason. But it's a substantially different competitive game on consoles than on PC. Certain heroes don't play nearly as well as they do with a K+M.
Anywho, Bloodborne gets my vote by a smidgen in front of Overwatch. But quick shoutouts to Child of Light, Rocket League, and Shovel Knight. Also a nod to The Witness, but that certainly doesn't feel like it's going to be an ongoing IP.
I was going to say Bloodborne but do you'll consider that a new IP? If not then it's a toss up between Splatoon and Sunset Overdrive.
I was going to say Bloodborne but do you'll consider that a new IP?
Some do, but others see it as a continuation of the Souls series.

Yeah, I was thinking that as well. Well then my answer is between Splatoon and Sunset Overdrive, really enjoyed both those games.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ori, Sunset Overdrive and Overwatch.
These 2 come to mind for me too... 2 of the most underappreciated games of this gen.
But there are many more...
I'm gonna go with Titanfall. Even though first entered with lackluster reception, Respawn really learned from the feedback and made massive improvements to have this game make a comeback with a vengeance with TF2. If only EA hadn't sabotaged them with fumbled release scheduling ?
And I know there's much being said about Overwatch, but haven't played it myself so can't really comment.
The Evil Within.
As for Splatoon, cool if you like it. To me it's just COD with paint.
And Overwatch is boring.
Good afternoon.

There are some problems with Overwatch, but it is head and shoulders above Splatoon. Its got a lot more going on strategy wise and the characters are pretty good. Also they have been doing a good job keeping it updated, its worth it if you are interested
Shovel Knight Easily. I mean, the main mode itself (Shovel Knight) is enough for me to say this. Then there's all the free DLC that do change up the game a good bit with Plague of Shadows, the upcoming Spectre Knight Mode, there's a still a King Knight Mode to look forward to, All the amiibo functionality is apparently going to become available to PS4, Xbone, Switch and just be part of the game without needing a piece of plastic, there's supposed to be a multiplayer mode where you can play as any of the KNights and pit them against eachother...

I definitely am. I just need to find time to actually play games (and not waste what time I do get playing Skyrim...)

In Splatoon you run around shooting others with paint. (okay, okay, you do other stuff, too)
In COD you run around shooting others with bullets.
I'm not sure what is odd about that comparison.

Wasn't aware that the bullets in CoD allowed you to hide in it, and strategically cover areas to travel around in. You clearly have never played Splatoon.

I think you edited my reply a bit.....like, the part where I acknowledged you do some other things in Splatoon, too.
Doesn't matter though. Dude, Splatoon is a shooter. Plain and simple. Yeah, you paint the ground and whatnot, hide and whatnot, pop up and paint others and whatnot, but at the end of the day it's just a slightly different take on the classic multiplayer shooter setup. If you like it that's perfectly fine. It is indeed pretty fun, I think. Just nothing too special.

its got killstreaks like cod and missiles at that...

Exactly.
@reduc_ab_: I edited nothing in your post.
Okay, I believe you. It's just some of my words did not show up when you quoted me.
The Division for me. I know it has its flaws (many have been addressed in patches), but I really enjoy it. The game is very polished and feels great. I like the premise and setting. The atmosphere of the game is excellent and it feels like you are in New York and shit is actually going down. Of all the new IPs, it is by far the game that I have played the most.
Ori would be my second choice. The Witness is a contender as well, but I have not played it yet (backlog).

It clearly says you edited your own post. Others can't edit your original comment.

Dude, I edited right after I pressed "post reply". Like, two seconds after. You jumped so quick on my comment.

Ok, so why did you falsely accuse me of editing your stuff?
