ManHunt and ManHunt 2, these games are truly violent, but not only because of the blood and the gore, but also psychological, to think that in both games you have voices that tell you to kill a person, and you dont feel any kind of guilty, besides, your enemies are also cold killers like you, these games truly reflect the lowest of the mankind behavior.

here's a serious answer: Shadow of the Colossus.

this game is beautiful. it is emotionally powerful and it has an incredibly single minded course of following the main charcter as he brutally slays creatures that aren't evil. you find out they are rare and majestic and live in a sacred valley where they are protected and you help an evil demon destroy them by digging a sword into there neck or face or stomach just so you can get your girlfriend back, who is completely against you doing this.

this game is violent because it corrupts you in the most wonderful ways.

if it's gruesome then i would say dead space.

you actually can have your view obstructed by the floating remains of zombie babies.

lol, i just played the Wolverine demo and that game is pretty damn violent. even for the little piece we got to play. cutscenes and in-game...damn violent it was, lol. i was surprised since a lot of young kids like Wolverine and will be playing it, if they can get their parents to get it for them...which happens a lot.

Let me help you with that. The little pikmin gang up on larger creatures to pummelthem to death with their skulls. The pikmin then carry the dead carcasses to the onion that suck up the dead body so that the Pikmin can reproduce.
