What do you think nintendo's next gen console will be?

It's underpowered yeah, but it's not weak. It's still a big step up from last generation hardware.

And Nintendo should do the same thing, they don't need to make an uber powerful box but it shoud be a step up from Ps4 and the Xbone.

Install base. Nintendo could make a rock with a screen on it and it would sell as long as it's handheld. Then games come to it because of the install base.

@Chozofication: It will be, it will also play all games in 1080p 60fps. That would be a nice step ahead of PS4 and Xbox One.

Never the less, Nintendo needs to put in the effort for 3rd party's next gen. Nintendo can't sell 50 million consoles from their first party alone, handhelds and consoles are a different market.

They can try to make another Wii, but if they fail like with the Wii U, they'll have nothing and lack multiplats.

@Chozofication: Wii U cant fail, every time one is sold it makes profit. Also Nintendos software on Wii U is selling like hot cakes.

PSP didnt have Pokemon and it did fine. Plus it cost a lot. So why Vita having a hard time?

Personal opinion:

It'll be on par with the PS4.. which will be ok in my book. I need an Uber Mario & Zelda.

Sad reality is, it will be yet another underpowered offering. Remember this is a gen 9 piece of hardware. Unless they plan on releasing this to compete directly with PS4 and X1 and they release something else to compete with PS5 and the next Xbox.
