[QUOTE="Khansoul"]Fanboys can make all the excuses they want for PSN it is still vastly inferior to XBOX Live. I gladly pay for XBOX Live and have never once thought about the 50 dollars a year.EmperorSupreme

Only fanboys think Live is still vastly superior. There are a lot of things that Sony is doing right with PSN. Both are great services and offer things the other doesn't. For example PSN has support for bigger online games, like Resistance, Warhawk, Resistance2, and in the future MAG. PSN supports remote access thru PSP, PSN supports an internet browser, PSN doesn't limit developers with a download cap, PSN let's everyone get demos day one, etc....

.... Psn does not have support for larger lobbies for games, that the game networking, the developer puts that in. XBl has remote access thro your cell phone and internet browser from xbox.com The internet browser isn't part of psn, its part of the ps3's features and its crap, i've used it a couple time, but after a few webpage loadings it says Out memory and won't load any more pages. The download cap isn't bad on xbl, it means that your hdd won't be bogged with few good games, but instead lots of good xbla games. anyways, yeah fanboys will say whatever they want on SW, saying ps3 is superior or 360 is, neither of the can admit which one has the better features and options and games.

MS are updating the Xbox software at a much faster rate than Sony, PSN will never catch up. Maybe if they started charging things will be different.

Just look at the new Xbox update compared with 2.41, it's night and day in terms of development. This is what your Live fees are going towards.

Xbox Live is actually $5 a month only if you but the $60 package for the whole year. If you don't it's more expensive...

PSN is just as good as live other than the updates. PSN only updates every week, xbox live is almost everyday. Other than that, they're equal but one is free and the other is not.

iesexywarden

ummm xbl and psn get same updates, the difference is most demos will come out 2 days earlyer on xbl.

as 2 days really wont make or break me, because i dont care enough for multiplat demos.

howevr i personally just found a new reason why to love psn more.

Before (cheak old posts
)i would have said xbl is better. But game sharing (completely LEGAL, and recomended by sony) changed all that.. Now me and my friends share games and it really makes things cheaper..

plus 50 bucks a year for in game voice chat to another person and cross game invites...well..idn seems kinda expensive, and homes getting that, so its all good :P

you can't share games on 360 how? :l i borrowed too human last week....

I love the new setup, and there's constant flow of new content by the week...plus the movie store is up and running. Once Trophies begin to pick up and Home is released the PSN will feel like a true community.

PSN is a good set-up..with that said..I simply enjoy XBL more

The consistency and convenience that XBL supplies simply walks all over PSN.....

[QUOTE="elcoholic"][QUOTE="Mau-Justice"]

[QUOTE="pspdseagle"]I like it very much and prefer it over Xbox Live because I feel I get more with the PSNMau-Justice

XBL is 4$ a month...if that's breaking the bank how do you afford a PS3 and 60$ games?

Its more like $90 in europe (60 euro's).

And its not the money, it's the principle of charging for something that's supposed to be free. You pay to get demo's earlier than silver members (psn doesn't do that) and you pay to play online against other people, in other words you pay to unlock content already on the disc you paid $60 for.

If $5 a month isn't a lot for you, when does it become too much? $100 a year, $150 a year? When would you start minding paying for playing online?

What is wrong with you people...is the internet free? no. WoW charges 15$ monthly, nobody complains.

If you're a gamer, then the 3$ a month to get the superior service isn't going to bug you.

The internet is free, the internet service and speed is what you are paying for. I could care less about what service is "more superior". You playing someone thru a peer to peer (direct connection) network. How much more "superior do you need a service to be? Other than the price, there is no difference between LIVE and the PSN, only fanboys is a difference

People say that they are glady willing to pay for LIVE, ......well good for you, but i already pay to use the internet, i'm not going to pay to play on it.

Comcast/Verizon is an of $60 a month. Live is = $50 a year, $20 for 3 months, $8 for a month to month plan.

Comcast/Verizon...$60. PNS = Free

Add it up anyway you want, but the sum is always going to be more the for LIVE rather then the PSN.

No, there are a lot of differences between the services. XBL is the superior service. And only fanboys who havent tried XBL properly will state otherwise.

It needs 100 PS1 games like the Japanese PSN has.

Square should bring over titles like xenogears to the AMERICAN PSN.

Ive HAD a 360 and LIVE and there is zero difference in the 2 service.

you can play online with both serives......right or wrong?

you can download items with both serives.....right or wrong?

you can send messages to your friends on both services......right or wrong?

So you tell me, how are they different?

PSN doesnt support cross-game invites. PSN doesnt support private chat. PSN does not have an Instant Messenger. Now thats just off the top of my head, if i were to research some i would find a lot more.

Im not trying to argue they are big differences. But there are differences, and XBL is better.

Let me rephrase it than. they both have the "basic" tools for online game play, and that a direct connection.

I agree. But XBL has more bells and whistles. May not be worth the $5 a month, but thats besides the point.

What stupid logic. I can play games on my mobile phone, sends friends messages and download items ergo my phone == PS3. Seriously, have a word with yourself.

i gotta be honest, i dont do anything really on psn, anything online related i do is on my 360

i played UT3 on psn and it was crap, tried to get into a game of metal gear online a while back and couldnt (maybe they fixed it, i duno)

but here are the positives: psn store is faster to navigate through then xbox marketplace and is user friendly, everything was well organized, and when i played resistance i never had a problem with lag

The funny thing is that you'll defend paying more for more features when it comes to the hardware itself, and then use the reverse argument when it comes down to the online service.

it gets the job done just as well, play online for free.

it continues to improve, home will make it amazing

when socom confrontation comes out, there is a bundle with a mic, and with its huge fanbase, i predict alot more ppl will be talking online

its free and does everything i need it to do, and i wouldnt have lost 150$ or so by now

also i feel that ps3 games complement online much more than live, with games like resistance 2, socom confrontation, little big planet, MAG, warhawk, and more...

Most people still don't use mics and trophies are still a joke. All these new PS3 releases have no trophies. Look how long ago the patch was released. I bought Soul Calibur IV expecting trophies. If you have both a PS3 and a 360, you can see just how big the gap really is.

I agree totally. Still you cant say that because it "makes sense". By doing that....you will offend alot of people in these forums.

And it's pretty much as simple as that..

People that do have both COMPLETELY agree with you..PSN is there so when I play my exclusives online..Nothing more and nothing less..

All my multi-plats go to the 360 mainly for the sole reason of Live

I don't really understand what there is to complain about with PSN. Can someone fill me in? I mean seriously, it's all dedicated servers... with XBL you PAY and there aren't dedicated servers. It doesn't make sense.

It's decent. It's getting better so there's nothing really wrong with that.
