I'm glad they tackled one of the biggest issues which is the weak ass combat that the series has been stuck with for a while. I'm still a bit skeptical on how good it will actually be and how all that will work and if it will be actually useful against enemies or will give enough amusement when you pull it.
But after Anniversary, I hope it will at least have some of the same good ol' platforming/exploring.
I think it looks great. Crystal Dynamics did a decent job with Legend, and this one looks to build on that signifigantly. I am definitely going to pick it up eventually. I just have so many other games that I am anticipating more for the next few months.ironcreed
The only game I'll be getting this month is Far Cry 2, I really wanted fable, but seeing as I don't have a 360...I'm just hoping old man molly will make a PC version
So yeah after careful consideration I'll definately be getting Tomb Raider alongside FarCry2 lol... really wish I could have fable though >=[

I personally never liked the old tomb raider games because of the combat...the biggest thing that drew me to the series was cool platforming and interesting puzzles...the things that have been lacking in the recent TR games...I really hope they give more emphasis to these points...most notably the puzzles =D
It looks good. I already preordered the game for the PS2.nVidiaGaMer
Haha, I was originally going to get it for the PS3, but now that you mention it, I like your idea more. If there's no major difference between the current gen consoles version and last gen's version (excluding graphics of course). I'll definately get it for the PS2 and hopefully I'll be able to utilize my PS3's backward compatibily feature.

I think the only difference will be graphics and its $30 vs. $60 so its worth it. Gamestop says the PS2 version comes out 12-08 while the rest of the versions come out on Nov. 18. A few weeks is worth the wait though.

I'll get it used, but I played through TR Legend and hadn't touched a TR game since the first one years ago. Legend was actually really good. It surprised me how well the story was written, and the gample and graphics were both very good to. Mostly the graphics stunned me, when it came out 360 and ps3 hadn't hit the graphics stride yet.
I'm looking forward to the next one. Right now BK:N&B, GeOW2, and POP are on my list above TR:U
looks great, but i think the target lock on gameplay is getting old, should be like uncharted, IMO.

I think the intensity of the TR game when in combat wasn't about the aiming but more about the dodging while shooting. Especially the first few games...the tigers wolves raptors, lions etc. I think that if they impliment an aiming system like uncharted it will completely lose its element. But then again, I'm talking about the first few games...Games like Legend and Angel of Darkness weren't that intense with the dodging.
