It can run on every 360? Seems viable since 80% of the PC's on the market probably will have trouble running Crysis on Max settings.
Other then that, Sales. I'd wait for both to release to really compare them as games...otherwise you're just shooting in the dark.
[QUOTE="WatsonC"]You are the one that created the topic. Why not try and tell us what Crysis has over halo3. I'll do that for him: Graphics, hype, critical acclaim, and innovative gameplay. Halo will be good, but Crysis looks like it'll set the bar way up high when it comes out.topic.

You left out the massive environments and the fact it's from the makers of the critically acclaimed Far Cry. Crytek is an 8 year old developer with one game released that, according to some people, was nothing more than a tech demo for a fancy graphics engine.

Does 9.2 mean anything to you?
I think Halo is an awful game, and so do some other people. Does that mean Bungie is an unproven developer?

You would have a point if Halo had been the only game Bungie has made. Bungie has developed 3 very acclaimed series of games and has proven that is capable of creating excellent game after excellent game.
Crytek has Far Cry which is a good game to some and a tech demo to some. It has proven nothing other than engine building capabilities.
This isn't an observation of Crysis; Crysis could be an excellent game and would prove Cryteks development prowess. But right now they riding on the wave of a single disputed game. That is proves they are neither a storied developer or a particularily good one.

No. How about 7.0?
Yeah, FYI, Templaer, Bungie is extremely disputed. Practically the only game completely immune from dispute is Marathon.
Far Cry still scored well at most publications and so did it's Xbox port. I see that as a vote of confidence, whereas I see the port of Halo 2 Vista as a vote of no confidence.

Show me a video to that innovative gameplay, Bioshock looks WAY better and its not even THAT innovative.
um lets see... a vide and picture recording system, 4 player online coop, 4 player local split screen multiplayer for use with lan parties... I only play video games with my friends online... wouldnt be caught dead playing crysis at home alone.

Halo
xbox:
Halo CE 9.7
Halo 2 9.4
PC:
Halo CE 9.0
Halo 2 7.0
Average: 8.775
Far Cry
PC: 9.2
Instincts (xbox): 9.2
Evolution (xbox): 8.0
Predator (360): 7.9
Vengeance (Wii): 5.5
Average: 7.96
And notice how both Far Cry and Halo 2 got lower scores when rated against higher standards? (Halo 2 - PC, Far Cry - 360)
And Bungie did not port Halo 2 to pc and Crytek did not port Far Cry to anything either.
So I would say that so far.. Halo has proven itself to be better, however Crysis definently could change that.
notice how both Far Cry and Halo 2 got lower scores when rated against higher standards? (Halo 2 - PC, Far Cry - 360) user_natThe biggest problem here, is that the Halo games are straight ports. Evolution, Predator, and Instincts are two ENTIRELY new games.
so your supporting the fact that crysis is a garbage half game that the developers didnt even finish and need others to finish their work... when I speak of party, I mean a real part with your friends in real life... in the same room, not a computer geeks online friends.
I wanna know if this game is so great.. how come on top of the line everything PCs at E3 it wouldnt even run correctly? You people are dreaming thinking your gonna make this game for under $1200 at launch. Crytek couldnt even do it on their own game!.. let not forget, it failed against COD4 and bioshock for best graphics or best PC game.

True.
But whats to say that if Halo 2 wasn't a striaght port and actually was update in say graphics (more then it was), that it wouldn't have scored higher? But honestly we don't know.

Everything. Where to begin? Lets see. Not having co-op doesn't necessarily make it a bad game right off the bat. Nor does it make it a "half-game". You don't even need multiplayer to be a great game. Mods are merely added incentive mean't to add on more longevity. Get it right. Oh, and when some computer friends get together its suddenly "OMG TEH GEEKS LAWL". Let me tell you something, the last major LAN I went to, CEVO, with my clan was a lot better than some "lets stay up till twelve watching lame action movies and drinking mountain dew lan fest". We went to strip joints, had barbeques, and generally did things that whoop some silly little sleepover. You can not overgeneralize everything like that. You can also build a rig for 600 that would run Crysis on max direct x 9 setings.

I'd say that less than 1% of PCs will be able to run Crysis on Max settings, and I wouldn't be wrong.
But it was a substantial improvement that should have upped the score, instead of lowering it. :oVandalvideoIf it was released in the same year: yeah sure maybe.
3 years later a small change is not going to improve a score. And even I acknowledge that PC standards are higher, because PC shooters are better (which doesn't make sense, seeing as Halo is my favorite shooter..). Anyhow this is going off topic :P
