I doubt you've played Trauma Center Vandal, it'd impossible to play it with a standard controller, as for the extravagant button thing I could say the mouse is a extravagant analog stick.

Vandalvideo
And why couldn't I just control the scalpel and stuff with a standard joystick and use buttons to perform the functions?

It would be much less accurate. You cannot compare an analog stick to precise pointer inside the Wii remote.

So why can't it be done with a standard controller? Knock up the sensativity and lower difficulty level.

I'm open for explanations. Please explain why it absolutely can not be done on a standard controller.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="3picuri3"] how can 2 games that were designed for motion / stylus play be more fun without them? explain that to me -- i honestly think the honus is on you hombre. get your posse if you think im wrong.Vandalvideo

How can being tied up and hit with whipes be fun? Some people enjoy that. Obviously, different people enjoy different things.

my point exactly dullard - that's why Ninty didn't make a freaking tie you up and whip you console - they made a fun one that millions of people appreciate. get a grip, you're in the minority, get used to it.

I didn't know a majority opinon = fact. Its still a subjective opinion that you can not prove to be a universal truth. Some people might prefer a standard controller.

hahahahahahahahah, go back to school.

you don't understand anything here.. lol. good luck man, have a good night ;) i'm not fanning your pathetic flames any more.

Flames? I'm merely saying that you can't prove an opinion.

and neither can you - my point from the beginning. Wii sells well, the games sell well. to use your stupid HS words, objectively the Wii is hammering other consoles in terms of sales. Conclusion = your silly point makes no sense at all. it's like me showing up at the Nintendo original launch asking people why duck hunt wouldn't be more fun with a ******** controller... lol. get some sleep chuck.

yeah, thats much more fun.......... have you ever played the game? i'd give you a freaking medal of solid gold if you could finish the game with standard analog, without the game being altered.

you obviously just don't GET the Wii. so whatever, go play PoS3. it must be lonely.

Hey, once I say theres a possibility that some people might have "more fun" on a standard controller you bash me for it? Its still an opinion thats just as valid.

No. It would have been nice if you said "I prefer the standard controller over the Wii remote." Instead you bashed the Wii and started a conflict rather than stating your opinion.

Okay, if you know so much about the Wii why don't you record yourself playing it with analog stick? Seriously, it'd be like playing UT 2004 with a standard controller or like playing Oblivion with a DDR dancepad.

How does "prove that it would be any less fun" equate to a bashing of the Wii? I merely said I was bored with the Wii and that it was an extravagant button.

I've been worried that since companies love to copy each other, that if the Wii gains a significant market share, the next round of consoles will be following suit. If the main goal of console developers becomes price point and not hardware power, it could lead to not-that-much-more-powerful-but-cheap round of consoles next gen.

I'd hate to think that we're going to be missing out on better graphics and smarter AI in the next round just because eveyone wants to mimic Nintendo's success.

Blackbond

Well you know Sony and Nintendo could come up with their own innovative ideas like Nintendo to make their new systems a run away success. They don't HAVE TO COPY

That's not the point though. If something is a commercial success, then it will be copied. That's why we have fifteen thousand reality TV shows, more ipod look-alikes than a Chineese street market, and why the PS3 has a built in HD.

If it works, its going to be copied. Companies will go where the money is.

Really? I was abhorishly bored by the extravagant button that didn't change anything.

Because Wii Sports and Trauma Center would be much more fun with a standard controller.

fight night round 3 IS alot more fun with a standard controller yes and i can play trauma center on my ds...

Trauma Center proves it. It hasn't been done on a standard controller because it can't be done and still be fun for the average gamer. It would be much less accurate than a touch screen or the pointer in the Wii remote.

Yes, it can be done, but actually succeeding in a level other than the tutorial would be impossible. Why even argue it? Somes games need the Wii-mote to be fun, some just plain need it. Period.

It would be much less accurate. You cannot compare an analog stick to precise pointer inside the Wii remote.

But it could still be done using a joystick.

and it wouldn't be as fun or as interactive.

i like to think of gaming as something that works towards some sort of immersion, or suspension of disbelief (sorry Vandal, University words). and the Wii does this, so does the DS to an extent.

By that logic a game can be the  same with marginally less graphics and still be the same. Sure it would be less graphically impressive but that wouldn't mean it would be UNIVERSALLY LESS FUN, right? lol.

(I think I need to stop defending consoles for a bit haha)

I have more fun failing miserablly while I play games. It gives me more incentive to keep playing and adds tons of replayability. Are you going to sit here and tell me my whole existance is a lie? The point is, you can't prove something like "it would be less fun".

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="slothboyadvance"] It would be less accurateVandalvideo

But it can still be done right? How does less accurate mean it would be UNIVERSALLY LESS FUN? I mean, you seem to keen on proving an unprovable subjective opinion. That is fun.

By that logic a game can be the  same with marginally less graphics and still be the same. Sure it would be less graphically impressive but that wouldn't mean it would be UNIVERSALLY LESS FUN, right? lol.

(I think I need to stop defending consoles for a bit haha)

Thats my point. Fun is a moot point, because its subjective.

try to learn more than 2 words for arguing pup -- Subjective, and Objective will never get you anywhere. but hell man, i've been watching you for over a year now, you are not going anywhere.

I have more fun failing miserablly while I play games. It gives me more incentive to keep playing and adds tons of replayability. Are you going to sit here and tell me my whole existance is a lie? The point is, you can't prove something like "it would be less fun".

I'm sigging this.

So why did Nintendo create the Wii instead of copying the PS2?

Now that extremism. I'm not saying that all companies will always copy each other every time. I'm saying that in general, companies will copy what will give them the greatest returns.

If the Wii is a screaming success, then I can see MS and Sony copying their business model. And that, is where the issue lies.

In Trauma Center, you need to be accurate to do well. When you do well in Trauma Center it is more fun.

To you. Some people like doing horribly.

Prove it. :P

Damn, you got me. I should have seen it when you backed up your points so poorly.
