Stick to gaming ;) Making and jokes and guessing people's preferences doesn't seem to be your strong suit.themyth01
I won an award for being funny good sir :>

And there's no guessing to your lemminghood, sorry :|

Now that's funny, gj. I've owned all consoles for the last three generations, do you own an xbox and 360? maybe it doesn't matter as to your obvious cowhood?!

cows are the worst imo. its so hard for them to play other systems because sony has only used 1 controller ever. alot of my cow friends dont use any system because of that reason only lol. i get called a lemming all the time but i too have owned every console out since the nes and master system. i just like to beat up on sony a little extra because they have sold me crap hardware the past 3 gens.... and their godly exclusives are not that great. least this gen, imo....

Games aside, the PS3 is the clear winner in my eyes.

You'd have to be completely ignorant not to acknowledge that.

There is literally nothing that the 360 does better than the PS3 when you're not talking about games.

inb4betta-online-service

balfe1990

they are both games systems and 360 is the better games system. alot less hassle= a ton :P

The 360 certainly catered to my gaming taste back in 2007 when I wasn't even interested in gaming. Now its library is a barren wasteland with exclusives that are *technically* still AAA such as PDZ. Which is crap by the way.

Playstation has overtaken the 360 in terms of quality and quantity of games. And I'm nearly positive thats a cold, hard fact. Only a real lemming could deny that.

Sometimes the 360 can be a pathetically poor excuse for a "gaming" console. At least when the PS3 "had no games" a few years back, it did other things like Blu-Ray playback and free online blah, blah, blah. Without games, the 360 is an expensive paperweight.

It's true, someone please TRY to combat that statement.

Research your information first! The quality of games between the two platforms is subjective. As far as quantity the 360 easily trumps the PS3 because of a year head start, a lot of those original releases still remain exclusive to the 360 to this day.

Nothing, other than a sub fee for basic functionality.

Every game on 360 has a better counterpart on ps3 for the most part, while there are a number of games that MS just has no answer for.

sts106mat

in B4 trollface.gif

Reach / halo 3 / ODST = PS3 has no answer & you said better counterpart for the most part! LOL

Forza 3 - LOL - GT5 half finished, PS2 quality graphics on many cars, recyled trees etc.

Resistance plays exactly like Halo. You should use a different example.

The comment about GT5 is typical regurgitated nonsense that people that haven't played the game would say.

Alot more games, no mandatory installs, a better controller (opinion) and it´s the saffest option for multiplats. Those are the most important reasons for ppl who get a system only to play games.

[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"][QUOTE="themyth01"] Are you talking about the PS3 now?!

monson21502

That would have been funny if it made sense :(

blinking red dot is when u get the ylod. when u go to turn on ur system it will flash a yellowish white for a second then blink red. something my 500 dollar ps3 did:( not sure how cows can talk about rrod knowing at least ms manned up and paid over a billion dollars for their mistakes. unlike sony who ingores its faulty hardware and didnt over to cover newer fat modles when they offered the extended warrenty to psn+ userers. it can only be bought for systems under 1 year old which left out any no slim ps3:wink: they know about that ticking time bomb in all older ps3s they just didnt do anything about it:wink:

My launch PS3 still works perfect and has never had any problems whatsoever. All my friends who own PS3's have never had problems. But the majority of my friends who have 360's had to get a replacement.

As have I, as well as Forza and Halo. Good games, the lot of them. But to ignore the similarities between Resistance and Halo is mind-boggling to me. I'm not even talking about just the thematic overtones of suped up human vs. alien horde, but the gameplay is very similar. Sure, there are different weapons (obviously) and the online modes are different, but they are largely the same game.

I'm not saying Resistance is better than Halo in every way, but the online is much more impressive (though I'm disliking the dop in player count for the 3rd one), with a much larger scale and lag-free online (something I, personally, value very much).

Forza is a great game as far as racers go, but when I played Forza 3 it felt much easier than GT 5 P, and later how 5 felt to me. It had an arcadey element built in to the driving that I noticed. Not saying that's bad, but GT5 is the better sim, and that's the genre of game they are.

And as i said i feel the exact opposite and so do scores. While GT5 and Forza 3 are close in how much i like them (with F3 beating GT5 out) Resistance doesnt even beat Halo: CE in multiplayer and that only had offline multiplayer on the Xbox, Resistance was just bad imo.

Ignoring scores, whole reviews, and universally accepted conclusions is part of this board. Makes anyone with an ounce of logic weep, but it does provide the lulz.

Forming one's own conclusions is part of life, and is something everyone should do. I accept the previous poster's conclusions, just as he, hopefully, accepts mine.

In the end, I don't want games to all play alike, because then what's the point. For the record, I don't care for Resistance or Halo, either. I only moderately like GT5, since it's a racer and those aren't my favorite genre, but my plays of these games leads me to these conclusions.

A controller that's good (and not just functional) for FPS and racing games, and more USB ports. But that's about it. The USB port thing is particularly odd considering that all of the PS3's peripherals need USB to charge, and if you buy into the Sony marketing machine you'll really only have a single USB port as the second will have an Eye plugged into it. Though to be honest, hardware victories mean little compared to game libraries.

I'm not knocking you for forming your own conclusions. It's merely logical to give more weight and faith in the conclusions concocted by someone who actually owns both consoles and can play both franchises to form a cohesive, backed opinion on both. :)

Anyone can buy an overpowered car in GT5 and wipe the floor with all the other underclassed cars but.. You find Forza3 easy? LOL.

For me the PS3 wins but not for the games. It simply has more in the hardware department. It has everything the 360 has and more. On launch it had wireless and bluetooth while the 360 didn't. The PS3 can play all manner of DVD's along with Blu-Ray's and all the 360 can do is play DVD formats. PS3 has free and a payable online service, giving gamers a choice. PS3 has more compatibility with plug in devices such as webcams etc. The PS3 also gives you more choice and options when connecting Surround sound systems. And more options to optimise picture quality for movies. There are many things like this that makes the PS3 the clear winner. I am not a fanboy by any means as I own both systems and actually really want a gaming PC because that platform is shining these days. I just only ever heard people complain about graphics and framerates but never that much about the hardware and which one offers more.

The built in Wireless for the PS3 doesn't get the same bandwidth as either the add on 360 Wifi or the one built into the 360 S. The other stuff, you certainly have a point, but since you are going back to the early days with the Wifi remark, try to remember just how much the PS3 copied feature-wise from the launch-360 in order to elevate itself above what it was at launch, which was horrible. Ask nyone who got a PS3 on day one... the PS3 has come a long way. It used to suck, but then it adopted many of the features 360 users enjoyed all along. I don't mean to bring up the past, but you went there with your Wifi comment.

Wait, what? For the longest time I thought the PS3 wifi adapter had far superior range than either the 360 addon or built-in. You got any links there? This is totally new to me.

Regarding range, I have no idea... my PS3 and 360 are the same distance from my router. But I can absolutely confirm that the 360 has better bandwidth over wifi. For instance, Netflix HD movies will experience intermittent drops over the PS3, while the 360 runs just as well wirelessly as it does wired (using either the Type G adapter or the built in type N adapter in the new S model. I've owned both.) Downloads over the respective stores are slower on PS3 as well, though this may be a server issue. But steaming wise, the Xbox has always been superior to the PS3, though you either had to buy a new 360 or pony up for the adapter on the old 360.

To be frank I'm honestly starting to feel a little bad for the 360. At first the whole "no exclusives" thing was kinda a joke. Now I'm looking for reasons not to sell it.

Well considering most games are mutliplatform titles, and multiplatform titles generally preform best on the 360, I'd say you have a whole lot of reasons to hold on to the 360.

There's no doubt that the ps3 has the better hardware but the 360 has the better support: it makes sense when you look at what made those companies famous. So while it may not have as many features as the ps3, those features the 360 does have work, and work consistently. It's the 360 itself that doesn't work consistently.

Features like Custom Soundtrack. Sure I have a few games on the ps3 that support the custom soundtrack function but for some reason the games that really need it, don't have it. And that's annoying.

It's too bad we couldn't get a console this gen that had both good hardware and good support. They're both major disappointment's in my opinion.

It's true, someone please TRY to combat that statement.

dont have to be a lemming to know thats not true lol. 360 had better games then ps3 last year with reach and forza 3. and will beat ps3 again with gears 3 and forza 4:P wha games did sony have last year?? gow 3??? i thought dante`s inferno was more fun and had a better story to it. cows over rate ps exclusives and when they go multi platform they are the first to say they hated the series anyways.. dcm, tekken, ff to name a few

So much fail in this post, one doesn't know where to begin.
