"there was no way to see which of our friends were online, no way to share or track statistics, no way to share our stages, no way to share our trophies and accolades"

You most definitely could :?. Also why would we trade trophies and stickers? That would defeat the purpose of them.

The GC controller compatability seems like that won't happen.

charizard1605

Unfortunately, you may be right. But they could always start selling new Gamecube controllers that ARE compatible with the Wii U, you know?

It's possible if Nintendo makes a similar controller packaged with the new SSB but we'll see.

CC Pro is a fine alternative. The WiiU controller seems to be fine as well.

Well, Sony does it. Nintendo should too. In any case, they should at least release a controller with an identical form factor that IS compatible with the Wii U, it'll help loads.

Most likely it will be third party like Mad Catz that will make it.

Third party controllers are never that god, especially with the Gamecube. Nintendo really should do it themselves.

It needs to play like Melee (Melee is FAR better than Brawl in the gameplay department)

and it needs to have TONS of content. More so than Brawl :P

If it does all that it will be amazing! :o

I found Brawl's pace was a happy medium compared to the N64 game and Melee.

Except all 3 Sony systems use the same controller. Every Nintendo system has used a completely different controller. I used an N64 controller before melee and was fine with that. Ive used CC Pro(which is practically the same as Sony's controller) for Brawl and its fine. I dont see why people cant move on from a GC controller. Its not like it was the best controller ever made. Every one of Nintendo's franchises have evolved with new controllers and Ive never had a problem, I dont see why Smash should be any different.

I say they should let us control the physics, that would satisfy both the brawl and meele lovers. They should also get rid of shields.

Well, the Gamecube Controller *was* the best controller ever made :P I don't know, maybe if they do it right, I'll fall in love with playing Smash Bros. on some other controller. As it stands now, though, there remains only one way to play Smash IMO- the Gamecube controller.

When I was a kid, me and my friends would play the original and then Melee all the time. So it's always been one of my favorite franchises :P

but when Brawl came out... :(

Brawl is still great it just... really disappointed me.

I never did buy into the hype much. I bought the games, I liked them, but that was it. Last year, I went to college, and I started playing them all multiplayer with my friends. And damn, that's when the sheer genius of the games struck me.

I think Brawl was incredible, and if Melee didn't exist, it wouldn't have had the same negativity attached with it that it does now. Melee still remains one of the greatest fighters ever created though.

Oh man, you didn't have the hype? I sure did, I thought it was the greatest think that happened to the Earth, I remember going on the SSBB website and watching their updates on new characters etc. I didn't even have a Wii at that time, I really did get a Wii for that game and built up from there. :)

yeah Melee is up there with the best of the best.

I really liked brawls story mode though, I hope they have a similar mode for the next SB game but they should expand on it.

And they better have Paper Mario as a character

Nope, until recently, I always thought the games were overhyped. It wasn't until last year that I absolutely fell in love with them.

Yep. He was my favorite character, I always used him. Incredible speed and attack, good recovery. They should just have axed Marth instead of Roy.

I hope to God they get rid of tripping.

They don't necessarily need to get rid of the Final Smash altogether, they just need to balance it more and not have it appear too much, and even if you don't like it still then you could just turn it off.

The gamecube controller is not coming back.

Off topic: The author got it wrong when he said that the original had 14 characters in it, it only had 12.

EDIT: I just remembered; change the handicap system back the way it was and improve the custom stage mode with more backgrounds, variety of pieces, and give me the ability to make obstacles.

[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]Trash the entire game and make it a one on one fighter like SFIV with bigger characters with a more complicated set move list.Bread_or_Decide

That's like asking Capcom to gave up with Street Fighter and make a platform game with Ryu :?

I want a real fighter. No more of this four player chaotic nonsense that is Smash Bros.

Then play something else.

[QUOTE="eboyishere"]add ons and a gamer's best friend DLC basically post launch support,

For you but for many gamers not. DLC is just a cheap way for get more money and I hope Nintendo doesn't follow that. I agree with 6 and 4, especially with the prat falls, they were quite annoying. But Final Smashes can be removed so I don't see a point there. And frankly, in tournaments I don't remember items to be turned on.

There are enough traditional fighters out there. One of the best things about smash bros is that it's in it's own subgenre

I say they should let us control the physics, that would satisfy both the brawl and meele lovers. They should also get rid of shields.

gamermonkey017

This! That would be perfect.

Proper controller support. Sorry but if the Wii U only supports one tablet controller, I'm sure as hell not using the Wiimote to play Smash bros.

[QUOTE="charizard1605"] I never did buy into the hype much.

Melee still remains one of the greatest fighters ever created though.

charizard1605

yeah Melee is up there with the best of the best.

I really liked brawls story mode though, I hope they have a similar mode for the next SB game but they should expand on it.

And they better have Paper Mario as a character

:P

Really? You liked Subspace Emmisary? :P And yes, they should have Paper Mario. And Mewtwo. And Roy, BRING HIM BACK FOR GOD'S SAKE.

i liked subspace emmisary also...the pacing was bad in the middle for me but i liked the ending fight

Sorry but you can use CC / CC Pro even in Brawl.

And sorry but Wiimote+nunchuck acts like a traditional controller because you don't need dual analog for this game, there is no excuse.

They should also keep the subspace emissary, how muh I loved that. Also, I would like a return of Tabuu, great boss.

Really it justs needs good online, the ability to make your own objects in the stage editor (you have a touch screen or you could do it LBP sty|e), and make the campaign less of a grind and it'll be fine. Brawl was absolutely packed with content, and I can't really imagine the next game having much more. Just get rid of tripping and clones.

I think a good addition would be to keep the daily player-made stages like they did early on and the most downloaded ones (or highest rated ones) could be made available as DLC in case people missed them.

And obligatory more characters and stages (but not many).

[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]

When I was a kid, me and my friends would play the original and then Melee all the time. So it's always been one of my favorite franchises :P

but when Brawl came out... :(

Brawl is still great it just... really disappointed me.

Oh man, I feel sorry for you that you didn't discover the magic that is Smash Bros local multiplayer eariler. Whenever I have 3 or more friends over, many rounds of Smash Bros are inevitable.
