Ok..This is my observation. The Ps3 should have a price drop for one, because the 360 is just as almost the same except for the blu ray player..Which doesnt even make much difference.. So why are people still buying $399 Ps3's when you can get $299 or $199 360. >.>...Just wondering :).

Blue-ray, that's one of the main reasons (IMO) people are getting PS3's and K2. I do believe 360 is still beating PS3 in hardware sales through these first two months but that may change in March though.

The 360 would cost me more than that anyway with online fees so they are price comparable. The ps3 is a much better system for my gaming tastes and needs. It has the exclusives and online games that I really want to play over the other box. It was an easy decision to make.

How much will an xbox 360 cost when paying for online in 5 years? that'll be $550. If you withing 5 years want a bluray player you'd have to fork out another $300 (? dunno how the US price is for a good bluray player) So.. Which one is cheapest?

You are also comparing the lowest end Xbox vs the PS3 when you know there is an Xbox 360 version which costs almost as much as the PS3 yet still has no wifi or blu-ray. compareing the Xbox 360 elite model to the PS3 is the only fair option seeing as it is the only model with a decent sized HDD (120gb -which is the biggest one you can get). but like i said, it costs almost the same and lacks the other things the PS3 has free net, wi-fi, blu-ray etc. and PS3 can get bigger hard drives for cheaper.

In 5 years Blu Ray players will be much cheaper. The PS3 for me still doesn't offer enough to purchase as I'm more interested in multiplats which generally look & run better on the 360 anyways.

Games doesn't matters much since both consoles have a good amount of great games. What does matter is the xbox being super unreliable + it's expensive over a large amount of time.

But it really doesn't for me. The ps3 exclusives and ps3 exclusive online games beat the 360s for me..... and there are more than enough great multiplats to play. Plus I have a steam account to play the occassional PC game.

no is aid your comparing the wrong thing. you understand with the Xbox 360 you have to spend 150ish on a 120 gb HDD.

Let me ask you.. How many multiplats run and playes considerbly better on the xbox than on the ps3? There's Fallout 3 and.. and.. and..? Most of the differences the "tests" out there tend to find, is something you and me will never really notice and if you do thing there's a difference it's probally just you eye tricking you. Oh and I can see bluray players becoming cheaper, just not the annual pricetag on $50, how long do you intend to play on a microsoft console? 1-2-5 years?

After owning both for a while I can say the PS3's features are a better investment over the M$ 360. Been playing online for free ever since.

For the extra price, you are getting Blu-Ray and internal Wi-Fi. Along with being able to put in any 2.5 inch HDD. You also get great exclusive games, in which PS3 looks to be having a killer '09.

That being said 360 is a great console, offers many great games and exclusives. Unfortunately the $200 Arcade comes with... well, nothing really. So it needs a hard drive.

It's all down to preference.

Games are the same price on 360 and PS3. You can find Blu-Ray movies for the same price as DVD's at many retailers. I can think of a ton in Canada. Also Blu-Ray is new technology, so the player price is high. DVD was exactly the same.

So your basicly stating your opinion on something that might not even mean something to you? And no, bluray is not more expensive all around, you are just in denial since you obviously dont own a PS3 or a bluray player. - I'd actually like you to make examples of when the bluray is more expensive than DVD? However one tihng I can see, if you own any of the 2 consoles there's no need for another - there's plenty of games on both systems with equal quality.

If you could check my posting history you would know I'm all for Blu Ray, but its just too expensive right now. I had bought a player used at one time, but couldn't afford buy the movies so I figured I'd just wait until they are cheaper & buy a PS3. I think Blu Ray can take games to unknown realms, but right now the development costs too fully take advantage of it are just crazy high.

Development cost shouldn't really be any of your concern (except if you're a develope?:) )The ps3 has good games as of now and more are coming. Oh and .. Isn't the PS3 just generally hard to develope for and is therefor more expensive? I'm not sure I've ever heard anything about the bluray being the reason for high develepoment price but I dunno.. I just checked it out,, DVD's are generally cheaper, however bluray movies aint as expensive as some may make it sound like. They used to be tha double price of what a DVD used to cost, now they are less than what a DVD used to cost.

Good hardware(advanced hardware) IMO not so good games reliability internet browser BlueTooth Blu-Ray and a sexy looking console. As of right now the only thing 360 has going for them is there cheap price tag. Like i always said you get what you pay for hench the price tag of the 360 vs PS3. One more thing the PS3 IMO has way better exclusives than MS and more exclusives than MS because half the 360 games are on PC as well.

Hmmm, everywhere where I live sells them for exactly the same price, although some releases can be a little higher. DVD was exactly the same, it's just a progressive change, people don't have to switch to Blu-Ray, but I certainly see no downside to it.

Blu-Ray isnt a new technology its been around for about 3 years now and its also not expensive due to the fact you can get cheap Blu-Ray players for around 150 dollars now. The movies on Blu-Ray are the only thing that arent cheap at 25 to 30 dollars a piece.

I sir find that offensive. I mean with the 360s down 20% from the initial 30%, MS has come a long way. In fact, let me show you what i mean. *turns on 360* There u see, no reliability issues. *1 minute later comes back crying* DAM U RROD!!

Yeah, that too!

A $400 entry model.

And a $500 and $600 launch price tag while we're at it.
