Turn based video game are boring. Action games(Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry 3 and God of War) all the way. If I wanted to play anything turned based, I'd go play Stratego or some other random board game.

Pretty much any SMT game, I love how brutally you have to fight in order to win, regular attacks are useless in most SMT games.

Yeah. Persona 3/4 and Digital Devil Saga are some pretty awesome turn-based games.
I forgot Persona 4's system. That's probably my favorite, actually.:\ Okay then.Turn based video game are boring. Action games(Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry 3 and God of War) all the way. If I wanted to play anything turned based, I'd go play Stratego or some other random board game.

Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy X are my favorite.AAllxxjjnnIf you like LO you should give the Shadow Hearts series a try.
Toontown needs 3 players? :? Final Fantasy XI requires a full part of 6 just to function.. Several alliances (made up of several parties) are needed to take down some of the higher level bossesCouth_First of all, I said 3 OTHER players, meaning there are 4 total. ;) Second of all, for the boss battles, you do fight with 8 people, but it's more split up in to two groups, so I don't think that really counts. Also, I'm not impressed that Final Fantasy XI needs that many people to function. I know World of Warcraft has tons of people taking down a certain boss, too, but the difference is that it is extremely necesarry to coordinate your attacks with your teammates. I must've been playing the game the wrong way, because I fought the same way I did alone, or maybe I didn't get far enough. I've never played Final Fantasy XI, so I can't really judge, but more players doesn't necesarrily mean it's better... It would actually seem harder to cooperate with the whole group. Maybe Final Fantasy XI does have this killer turn-based battle system I don't know about, but even if it does somehow magically beat ToonTown's (can't dethrone the king), it's still a masterpiece. I sincerely doubt it, though, considering everything else in this thread that I have played does not even come close to touching ToonTown. The games I listed in the opening post are some of my favorites, ever, but they fail in comparison to ToonTown. It's like comparing Eistein to God. Sure, Eistein is a ****ing genius, but he's got nothing on God's knowledge.
It does have a pretty good battle system; probably in the top 5, but if you are listing it as the best, you obviously haven't played ToonTown, no offense.Get laughing, because FFX is my favorite.

FFX by a freaking long shot. Takes about 1 second in the battle, so fast and fluid. The quickness of battles makes grinding enjoyable.
After that, its Persona 3. I havent played Persona 4 yet but i heard it pretty much improves P3s battle system in all aspects so il probably choose that when i play it
Skies of Arcadia was pretty neat too.
Toontown....meh

[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"] What? KOTOR isn't turn-based.WasntAvailable
Never noticed it was a DnD game with a Star Wars skin? Never noticed your next attack on the queue only occurs after everyone else has taken an action? It's totally turn-based if you have to wait for everyone else to move before you move.
Except it's not. Actions are qued, but there's no waiting for the other player to attack., meaning the game is real time. You can hit out with an attack twice without having to wait and if you do wait you will die.There for it's clealy not turn based.
From what I remember there is no way to attack twice, like the other guy said the game is DnD with a Star Wars theme so there are rounds and turns, you can only do one action per round unless a special skill is used.
