What game had the most surprising twist ever?

Portal 2 really took me by surprise. Might be my favorite ending, actually.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories. I think anyone who has played that game would agree.

FFX had some good twists, the first one being that Jecht was Sin (did not see that one coming). Then there was the whole "Yuna has to die thing," didn't except that either.

But the biggest twist ever had to be in Halo:CE when you found out the planet you were on is actually a weapon that kills everything. Did NOT see that coming at all.

I've had a lot of twists ruined for me before I got to play them myself sadly. However the best one that comes to mind is probably Shattered Memories' twist at the end. I had no idea that would be the ending.

When I bought MGS2 and found out after some hours of gameplay that Snake was not the main playable character. I was pretty young at the time so I didn't know anything about any games unntil I actually played them. Despite Raiden being the MC, I loved the game to death.

That is exactly what I said. I was trying to think of how Konami would tie it all together, and then I saw the ending. Aboslutley amazing.

MGS2, starting inside Arsenal Gear.

Anyone remember when: A. Chrono Cross, you switch with the "other" person. And XenoGears, when you find out who YOU are? And the story afterwards. Those were awesome.

Batman AA, the twist was that it was one of the best (if no THE best) game of 2009. :P

A big twist was the ending to inFAMOUS 1. It was also one of the most fulfilling twistsi've experienced. Second only to the Wind Waker's.

I thought Shadow of the Colossus or Silent Hill 2 had some pretty intense "twists" at the end.

KoTOR, Bioshock, The Witcher (Detective), Braid ending.

Shadow of the Colossus. At the end of the game.
Tactics Ogre At the end of chapter 1.
Fire Emblem 4. Halfway through the game. I knew something was going to happen, but THAT I totally didnt expect.

The original MGS. That was back when I didn't even know video games had twist endings, so I was pretty surprised.
