What game that scored really high (8+) you just don't like?

the only one that really stands out is assassins creed.

it had 5 mission types and that is only if you count tower climbing and sitting on a bench ans eavesdropping as missions. terrible combat that ended up being you doing one hit counters the entire game, terrible a.i. where you could kill people right in front of a guard and the guard just looks at you and says "omg! who did this?", 3mph horsey rides. running from the top of the mountain EVERY... FREAKING... TIME....

sure the platforming was awesome but that does not make up for the rest of the game.

Uncharted 2.

I LOVED uncharted 1, but then I played Uncharted 2 and completely lost interest in the series :(

Actually, Oblivion and Bioshock were two high rated and well loved games that just didn't connect with me for some reason. I have both and barely played either because i just couldn't get into them.

And yet Skyrim I love and I'm pretty excited about INfinite City or whatever that new Bioshock in the sky game is.

I hate Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I followed the game but never saw the hype. When it came out and looked like a PS2 game I wasn't surprised.

Don't like Dragon Age either.

Too many options that don't work very well.

Well I thought both Halo ODST and Assassin's Creed 1 were both very overrated games, they got almost universal praise but they weren't very good at all IMO.

I also never thought the Resistance games should have been given such high scores, they are simply an average FPS that does nothing to stand out from the crowd, they have no identity of their own and it felt like it was a Halo wannabe.

Only reason people hype it so much is because they are hardcore cows, besides if you have a PS3 you should buy Killzone, that game is a true top tier elite FPS and is a game EVERY FPS fan should play IMO.

Oh and I didn't care for Dragon Age Origions, so boring...Stick to Mass Effect and KOTOR Bioware please. Also Fable games are not very good either IMO, good for RPG beginners but they don't warrent the price of $60 at all.

Several, to be honest. But most of all, the whole Uncharted series. I never could get by how a third person shooter that was deemed with "bad to average gameplay" but an "amazing cinematic experience" could consistantly score above 8.5. I seriously can't understand what reviewers use as their criteria if they think cinematics/cutscenes mean more than gameplay.

To a much lesser extent, I also think that of MGS4.

Assassin's Creed series- I liked the 1st one's story, but the gameplay was so boring, it was a chore to finish. I heard AC2 was much better, so I rented it; the gameplay had improved, but I still found it to be boring, and this time with a worse story and a character I just didn't like, as well as a WTF ending. gave up on the series after that.

Super Mario Galaxy- the gameplay and level design are great, but there was nothing keeping me invested

and to a lesser extent, Mass Effect 2- I like it, but I thought the 1st one was so much better, and I don't understand how so many people thought that ME2 was such an improvement and GOTY material

The Witcher - Just so much wrong with the game. Fable 2 - Way too easy, oversimplified in every way possible, not really anything good about it. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - I dunno, I just don't really like military shooters.

Oh yeah this as well.

Too many to list, but most recently it would have to be Saints Row: The Third. Underneath the over the top humor, I just found the game itself to be quite underwhelming. The constant respawning enemies, broken missions, horrible variety in customization... I could go on. Had a blast with SR2, but just can't stomach this one. Bring on GTA V.

Everyone has their own tastes and sometimes even if the masses say a game is deserving a 8.5 you just can't get into it no matter how hard you try.

Also....Leave COD out...I don't like it either...but there will be a massive amount of COD posts because this is gamespot and gamespot hates COD lol.

For me I cant for the life of me get into the Uncharted series. The controls for me just feel way to awkward to try to keep trudging through the games. I haven't played 3 but I played 1 and 2, but I couldn't finish them. I just couldn't. Story was fine and I like the idea of an Indiana Jones esque game, but the gameplay itself just left me flustered.

Yes I'm in the minority when I say I do not like Uncharted.

Maybe it's time for us to take personal responsibility post TOS and try to add new things to the discusssion instead of re-hashing the same old arguments with the same outdated evidence.
