Persona 5 on PS4 is what I'm looking forward to the most in the genre. Wish they'd put Zestiria on PS4 too.
@Gamerno6666: @silversix_:
Yes, I know I omitted Bloodborne, but that is because I am referring to the kind of gameplay, aesthetic, and structure that has traditionally defined JRPGs, and that, sadly in recent years, has appeared to be dying out. Next year, with so many big name JRPG releases, promises to be the best hope for that kind of classic JRPGs to make a return.
Bloodborne will be big, and it will be successful, and yes, it's a JRPG. But this thread is asking about a specific kind of JRPG, which Bloodborne doesn't fit into, which is why it was omitted. Bloodborne's success is assured anyway.
Char is very excited for Persona 5.
If i vote for something else, do i get banned? jk
Yes. I'm not joking either.
No Bloodborne?
That total lack of faith in Final Fantasy ... sad times... but justified.
Persona 4 was riddle with progression problems... and boiled down to a 1 day dungeon complete just to watch a bunch of kids talk day after day... this high pedestal is ridiculous.
Xeno was good..... but again... I dunno if people are so starved for JRPGs or their standards have dropped.
Bravely Second.... yes we get it traditional is sometimes good.
Theyre all in the same boat to me... the obvious answer will be Bloodborne.... because LOLOLDJRPGSARECOPYPASTEDEAD.
Xenoblade Chronicles X. I can't think of a Monolith Soft game that has disappointed me. Maybe the combat system for Xenosaga 2. Otherwise their games are always bordering on a religious experience.

Have to say it's a toss up between FFXV and Xenoblade Chronicles X. PE5 shouldn't even be up there cause we've seen no gameplay for it yet, it will still probably be a contender but it's hard to pass judgement when all we've seen was a intro type thing.
There's too much hype revolving P5, hopefully atlus can deliver.
But Bloodborne has a very good chance of winning this battle though.

Yes. I'm not joking either.
OK. BTW, a couple of days, i read a translation from a japanese magazine where in an interview, Atlus was interested in bringing back some characters from Persona 4, like Chie. Quick, go look for that article.
well, that should keep him busy for a couple of days
A lot of games I'm interested in up there. Let's hope they all release in 2015 as I suspect delays.
1.) I'm thinking Persona or Bloodborne as my top picks. Blood isn't up there, but I'm getting it as well.
2.) Xenoblade and FF15 are also on my own list though.
3.) Bravely and Tales I'm not as eager for, but I will pick those up too.
May the best game win.

Pffft, good ploy. Unfortunately, if there's any update related to Persona, I probably already know about it, so your play has failed.
I would really hate it if Persona 5 had any Persona 4 characters in it in any capacity beyond an easter egg or cameo.
Like charizard said, Souls games aren't JRPGs if you consider JRPG a genre. So it'll be either Xenoblade Chronicles X or Persona 5 for best JRPG of 2015. No gameplay of Persona 5 has been shown yet so I'm going with Xenoblade.
FFXV looks promising but I have little faith in the series after XIII ruined it. It'll probably get delayed to 2016 too, lol
@charizard1605: Wait, FFXV doesn't even have a release date yet. And while i only played part 1, if it's anything like XIII it can go die in a fire all away in japan. Eh, Lightning
Also, i vote Persona 5 because i don't follow JRPGs much, and i don't want to get banned
1. Xenoblade Chronicles X
2. Persona 5
3. Bravely Second
4. Final Fantasy XV
5. Tales of Zestiria
Oh btw Chaz, there are official tales of Zestiria screenshots out there on the Internet. the one you posted was from tales of Xillia. From a distance the graphics looks the same, but after seeing them closely, Zestiria looks so much nicer.
@bbkkristian: God damn it. I literally spent 20 minutes trying to find official Zestiria screenshots lol, like, reading the descriptions of all the images in the pop up summaries and stuff. I was so sure I had a Zestiria one here (although it did look familiar to Xillia, but I haven't followed Zestiria at all, so I figured maybe they're similar games or something).
Oh well xD
@deadline-zero0: It's technically slated for 2015 worldwide in Square Enix documents, so that's the one I am going with.
XV will almost certainly be nothing like XIII, considering how different each Final Fantasy game is. That said, it will probably suck differently in all new ways, because Square Enix always finds new ways to disappoint.
This really isn't a competitive poll for most of the games listed. Bravely and Tales are solidly AA franchises, but don't have the extra oomph to reach AAA status. Final Fantasy has been a disappointment for some time.
So it only comes down to Xenoblade Chronicles X vs. Persona 5. Both should be great games, but I'd give the nod to Persona 5. Thank god we have the eShop now, so we won't have to worry about limited quantities of Xenoblade this time around.
Screw that...
What J-Platformer will be king in 2015 ?
No wait, what about J-TPS ?
No wait, J-Action Game ?
LoL.... See how stupid this industry is ?
So you don't have a point?
Probably something really mediocre.
It can't be something really mediocre when you have XCX, P5, and Bloodborne in competition. ;)
Bloodborne
this. other games on this list are for weeaboo otaku's.
Yup

other than spreading stupidity and lowering the already very low iq of this forum, does he ever have one?
Probably something really mediocre.
Yes. I mean, after all, thesegames' predecessorsare allshining standardsof mediocrity.
Xenoblade Chronicles X. Xenoblade was the second best game of last generation.
Although I'm really looking forward to Bravely Second.
Im excited for Persona 5,FF(yes I enjoy 13 games) and tales. Xenoblade after the first one im not to excited for but ill get around to playing it much later on. I have zero interest in BS.
1. I want to be excited for FFXV, and I still mildly am, but shit man that game's situation is just ridiculous. Makes it hard for me not have some skepticism.
2. never played persona so meh to Persona 5 I guess?
3. If they really fix how they handle quests, then I could see Xenoblade Chronicles X being really good. Liked the first game but didn't find it as amazing as others made it out to be.
4. lol Tales series
5. Bravely Second is the one I'm probably most interested in. Just don't pull that nonsense that happened during the second half of the first game and it should be wonderful.
Probably something really mediocre.

still a weeaboo simulator.

Seriously, most people, if not all here, don't know what "weeaboo" actually means.
