What games do you find incredibly overrated?

I think Gears, Halo, MGS are severaly overrated games. Sur they are good, but are they the most fun i've had playing a game? Not even close... I think they are really overrated. I wouldn't give any of them higher than an 8/8.5 is being generous...

Halo, COD4. Got bored after playing them for about 5 months. Games like TF2 and GTA SA have kept me coming back. Mods FTW!

GTAIV, FAllout 3, Fight Night Round 4, NBA 2k9 are games i played the most this gen. Halo 3 was cool for a while. But eh.... I personally think most first person shooters are really overrated. Call of Duty is lame as well. Killzone... Never got Final Fantasy either. Most games in the 9's this gen i played for a month finished them and never went back. Fable 2/MAss Effect i wouldnt say are overrated or underrated. They got what they deserved. I liked both. They were fun. Both 8's... Nothing that blew my mind. Although Mass Effect was very cool.

MGS while very good is also very overrated.

It's sickening how COD gets good scores even though the single player sucks.

Halo 1/2 are overrated, haven't played enough of 3 to judge, but it's probably more or less the same.

I wish reviewers would start reviewing these games as such. IT's almost like someone comes out with a shooter that looks good it gets a 9+. They are all the same after a while and very repetitive. Why are shooters favored so much in reviews?

I thought that OOT was really overrated, it was not only my least favorite zelda game (besides the CDi ones) it waso ne of my least favorite games of all time.

No, the most obvious one is Chrono Trigger.

FF7 is technically done well, it's just not my cup of tea. I like FF 10 better, even though every fanboy and their mother wants to burn me at the stake for it.

GTA VI. The game was fun, no doubt. Even despite it's annoyances such as the people that kept calling you all the time to hang out, spongy vehicle physics and repetetetetetive missions. I still enjoyed it, but I don't think it was worth all the perfect 10's it got from all over the place. The other one would be Oblivion. Great scores from all sides, but for the love of god I can't see it. :( (What's strange is that at the core Fallout 3 is so similar to Oblivion, but I really enjoyed that game!)Nightflash28

Infamous (just not 9.0 caliber. 9.0s seem like GOW's or MGS's)

Oblivion and Fallout 3 (dreary, not thrilling in the slightest bit. And the dialogue camera angles are enough to put me off)

Cod4's multiplayer (requires no brain)

Cod: WAW (feels very last gen)

Redfaction: guerilla (destruction is sweet, but not 8.5 sweet)

MGS4 is overrated. I haven't played Halo3, but I've played the other two-- The second one was overrated, the first one was pretty damn fun. My friends and I liked to goof around and try to stuff all the vehicles into buildings. lol.

I also thought No More Heroes wasn't that great; overrated. I rented it to see if I could get into it. I hated the way that you were forced to perform these weird combos in the middle of what would normally be a fast-paced fight. The slo-mo combos just really ruined the game for me.

Killzone 2 - Sick of all of the fawning over the slightly better than average graphics, weak story and boring gameplay

GTA4 - To cluttered with side missions and non-story affecting events

Halo 3 - Weak wrap up to the series, same ol' multiplayer

Madden Series - No breakthroughs since 2005-2006, just yearly roster updates and poorly conceived and executed gimmicks

Resitance 2 - Poor graphics and physics, boring gameplay

GeoW 2 - Meat sponges for characters, less than stellar story, unbalanced multiplayer

EXCEPT GTA 4. It's extremely hated over here but IMO not only is it the best GTA so far (and I've played every main game in the series), it's one of the best games this gen.

Civilization Revolution. A completely lobotomized version of the PC series. All the cuts were cited as necessary to make a fast paced fun multiplayer experience by the devs. Except the online multiplayer came out completely broken, and several months (and 2 patches) later had still not been fixed. Oh, and there was no option for local multiplayer, so there was no real way to enjoy the games multiplayer focus at all. Nothing was more frustrating than working for an hour to get a stable game started, then lose voice chat an hour in, and then the entire match freezes 45 minutes later. Absolutely infuriating, and this horribly broken release received AAA? This was a superior console Civilization IMO.

Zelda: TP. I just don't think its impressive at all.

COD:WAW - The only thing I liked about the game was the Russian campaign
