Dark Souls 3 and Batman Arkham Knight feel very "Next Gen".
oh and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

Thinking about it 100% honestly... not a single game I have played has felt "next gen". Which is pretty dreadful.
In a way it's good I guess. Tech has gotten so good it's more about design than "flashy tech". But still. Would love an equivlanet to the games that blew my mind on X360 in 2007: Dead Rising, Kameo, Ass Creed, Mass Effect, Portal, Bioshock, Halo 3, Obilivion, etc.
Driveclub and The division.
Stunning weather and light effect on Driveclub.Dynamic weather was pretty rare on last gen,you could really feel the leap between PGR4 and DC.It is among those games which system war couldn't shit on the visual, and spurn it with"play like shit","look shit without visual effect".
Division is a story base open-world co-op/competition shooter RPG,reproducing a lifelike city player could battle from the roottop to underground. In one package, without loading screen.
The day I was playing infamous SS,where I strike from hundred feet to street level, wipeout a sector and the particle effect flow around the street. That was the time I felt this gen has begin.
But most people here don't play games,we have more youtube players and screenshot gamers than all console gamers combine.
GZ and MGSV were the only games that gave me that feeling, which is funny seeing as they're cross gen titles.
@brah4ever: The only games as of now that felt really next-gen to me were The Witcher 3 // Uncharted 4 and maybe MGS5. Thats it.
Also graphics and everything related to them is the first thing you call next-gen. It always was like that since forever and will always be so i dont get this ridiculous thing some saying that gameplay defines whats next-gen and what not .
@brah4ever: The only games as of now that felt really next-gen were The Witcher 3 // Uncharted 4 and maybe MGS5. Thats it.
mgs5 was built for ps3, and witcher 3 can run on specs around the 360/ps3 for PC. Uncharted 4 could also probably run on ps3 at like lower resolution with some graphic chops.
Donkey Kong Country would never work NES
Star Fox would never work on NES
FF7 can't work on SNES
do you see what im getting at this gen is not doing anything man.

I dont agree with this logic at all.
Youre more into hardware limitations between generations than games themselfs.
Nothing really felt next gen to me yet.
Witcher 3 feels like it coulda ran on 360
Arkham Knight felt like it coulda ran on 360
Back when the xbox 360 came out bioshock felt next generation gears of war felt next generation
I haven't even come close to that feeling yet I hope dev's are paying attention we haven't gotten the next gen game yet imo.
That's because you are playing them on a console. Play them on PC, and they are nearly generations different, especially The Witcher 3.
@Cloud_imperium: Battlefield 3 and 4 were definitely big leaps from the old consoles. 64 players with the destructible environments(and the water from BF4) were impossible on 360/PS3. In fact, they could barely even run 24 players without looking like slop with a slogging framerate.

MGS 5 is literally on the ps3 though you really can't call that a next gen game at all if it runs on a last gen console. Those are called Cross Gen. Not Next generation its literally the book definition. MGS5 can't even be listed as a next gen game going by that since its cross gen title.

Yeah it is so what ? You think a seriously downgraded God of war 3 wouldnt run on PS2 for example ?
This logic is false. Theres no way in a million PS3/X360 could run games like Witcher 3 or Uncharted 4. Games feeling next-gen because they taking advantage new hardware.
With your logic therewasnt any PC game as we speak that felt next-gen since forever ...because most low end PCs can play all games in their downgraded versions and because of that ... baah , i dont agree.
@cainetao11: perhaps I should have worded myself better. I meant that it's the most we have gotten so far out of a game in terms of animation and interaction with an environment. Of course no matter how we advance, video games will still be video games.

It ran on Gameboy though. It's pretty obvious at this point you don't even know what the **** you're talking about and are just talking out of your ass. Any game can run on any system with "graphics chops".
Witcher 3
Uncharted 4
Second Son
Ratchet and Clank
DOA Extreme 3 (dem nextgen boob physics)
Metal Gear Solid V (even though it also got released on lastgen systems lol)
Star Citizen
Elite Dangerous
Battlefield 4 (the lastgen versions are total turds)
Overwatch

Witcher 3 could definitely be pulled off on PS360 it just would have to load the other parts of the map once you approach a certain area instead of it being all loaded at once.
It's kind of what allowed GTA or Red Dead games to have such big maps despite running on such small amounts of ram on the consoles in the past.
Shadow of Mordor and Dragon Age Inquisition were cross gen titles.
Witcher 3 - In scope, yeah.
Uncharted 4 - Plays like all the other uncharted but looks very puuurrrty for sure.
Second Son - Looks next gen but doesn't play next gen.
Ratchet and Clank - It's on PS3
DOA Extreme 3 (dem nextgen boob physics) - Def
Metal Gear Solid V (even though it also got released on lastgen systems lol) - Cross gen
Star Citizen - Not out yet and is a PC exclusive
Elite Dangerous - Not sure if srs
Battlefield 4 (the lastgen versions are total turds) - Cross gen, I know the PS4/X1 is 64 players. Had it been an exclusive to a single console since PS3/360/PC hardware was so different from one another it probably could've ran 40ish to maybe 50 players.
Overwatch - lolwut? Nothing about Overwatch could not be done on PS360, it's uses mostly cell-shadish/somewhat realistic graphics style.
I played a build of SUPERHOT at a show that used an Oculus Rift headset. Definitely that.
Not sure why Superhot dropped support for that, or maybe its coming.

How would you describe the Oculust Rift experience?
Go into details, it seems pretty cool.

Oh no doubt. But there are games with almost complete destructible environments.
All the games play like last gen. They updated the graphics ONLY and in some cases regress with the gameplay. People are drooling over graphics when the vast majority of high profile games look equally great but the gameplay is the same as last gen and the gen before it. Devs are too busy pushing story or relying on their shampoo and conditioner multiplayer.
Im not a graphics guy by any means but my god everytime i play Ratchet and Clank PS4 i simply cannot believe thats actually a game.. the game is drop dead gorgeous
Nothing really that I've tried so far. I bet I'd get the feeling if I played a good VR game. Visuals aren't doing it anymore, since the visuals now take very small steps. It's not the GC/Xbox/PS2 era anymore where a new console meant a humoungous upgrade in visuals. Now, PC games are slowly becoming better looking, and the consoles try their best to keep up and are usually pretty far from it.

Yeah ,. and if you downgrade texutres , polygons usage at 1/1000 , shadow , animations , lighting , depth of field , all filters , put alot of fog in there , and put it in 10 discs , Witcher 3 might get a Playstation 2 release so that means Witcher 3 wasnt a next - gen product.
Wtf is this idiotic logic ?
@brah4ever: A lot of things that happen in those games I feel would have chugged on the previous systems.
Like all of Irithyll in Dark Souls 3 would not have been pretty to see on 360 or PS3 hardware.
And the Rain Effects in Batman? Doubt that would have happened.
Witcher 3 was in every way a next gen gem (imo).
Even the clunky combat?
Yes, even the awesome combat.
Actually one of my biggest gripe with Witcher 3 is the combat.
It feels so unsatisfactory and clunky.
I found it satisfactory and strategic.

The funny thing is that your logic is rather stupid to. LMAO.
Nothing. I've played nothing that "plays" next gen...
Most days I feel like We need to stop clamoring for better graphics and start asking when the next gen games are coming. Forget franchise fatigue, there are companies doubling down on 100 million dollar budgets in genres that are full blow tired to me. .
New perspectives should be a consistent goal of any gaming developer.
FM 5 and 6 for physics. As for the ai, it's unknown to me if drivatar would work on the 360. As it is, by the end, the hardware was pushed to its limits without adding extra features.
Second Son
Ryse
The Order
Uncharted 4
Witcher 3
Quantum Break
Quantum Cake?
Games trash lol.
you're trash
I wonder why The Order is there, it felt like a game from the year 2000 with it's simplistic gameplay and super blurry graphics.
Yeah ,. and if you downgrade texutres , polygons usage at 1/1000 , shadow , animations , lighting , depth of field , all filters , put alot of fog in there , and put it in 10 discs , Witcher 3 might get a Playstation 2 release so that means Witcher 3 wasnt a next - gen product.

Wasnt ? It was intended to be rather stupid because i just copied your logic of "downgrade". Any game can get a downgrade to a degree that can play on PS1 if developers really want.
A fine example is when a guy posted the gameboy version of Donkey kong.
Oh yes , have you ever played Street Fighter 2 on original Gameboy ? Proves that Street fighter 2 was never something special ! Want me to continue with countless of games that coming in my mind this very moment ? No you wont , you get the grip.
LMAO is my line.
I haven't played any game yet that has wow'd me to the point where I felt it was next-generation material. I've been spoiled too much by PC gaming all these years.
