Halo 3 Cortana. Good god that level is a nightmare.

UC3 the boat graveyard level is a very close 2nd.

Chutebox

Why do people hate that level? I thought it was freaking intense.

Probably it's because there's only one place where there's some cover. I had to keep moving and moving fast in that level. I liked it.

There was plenty of cover....the only annoying thing was the amount of pirates the lvl had which I've gone through worse in other games (like infinite mobs).

Yep, it's so bad, I wonder why people love that map!

I never understood why people always voted for it. Not only is it a boring looking map but why do people want to play on a small map where people are constantly spawning behind you?

You can kill opponents eaiser; that's my guess.

That's the only reason why I even enjoyed the map was that it was at least fair instead of "SPAWN/GETSNIPED/RELOAD" of other CoD maps.

The novelty wore off after about 2 minutes and the rest of it was frustrating and way too long. Bad level. That and the cruise ship were the worst levels in the whole Uncharted series.

I still stand by upstream being the worst in uncharted any person who decides that riding a jet ski against current with exploding barrels, enemies shooting and some of the wonkiest controls to a vehichle this gen should be shot... i remember playing it thinking, "wow this is really bad"

Killzone 2, Mass Effect (all 3), CoD... Perhaps almost all FPS these days. Homefront gets a special mention as being the most horrid of them all.

This thread would be much more interesting if it was about which Mass Effect game had the worst level design. Then maybe we would see a wider range of answers

Fourthed. So bad. So f*cking bad. Easily the most miserable level in the game.

Ya mean maneuvering an uncontrollable jet ski in-between exploding barrels 18 inches apart isnt fun? Fuk that level and the horse it rode in on.

yup, and they had no business being in that game. the only reason they were there was to pad the length of the game and show off some sexy water.

I would love to hear why you think they were horribly designed levels.

You should change the topic to: Which popular game you thought didn't have a great level design.

chest high wall simulator, mass effect 3 opened it up a bit more from 2, but it still used a lot of the same level design que's that absolutely drive me nuts. I will say structurally, mass effect 3 is probably the most interesting out of the entire series.

Cortana sucks but I actually like the boat graveyard in U3. There are many ways you could approach the fight; however, at the top, there's a horrible glitch that, when Drake swings, he falls straight down. This happens to me only occasionally though. I'd also like to add 90% of the Halo Reach maps.

From a plot perspective you're right. It's like ND came up with awesome segments and set pieces they could have and filled in the part with Ramses later as filler.

I think ME1 avoided it, at least for me personally....because there wasn't a set in stone cover system, it never felt like I was gluing myself to chest high wails and such. ME3 had the best combat though...at least they opened it up. ME2 got claustrophobic

I guess i can see the gripe some have with the 3/4 walls convieniently placed for cover and yes me1 is asthetically a different combat system all together for me as well... but in me2 i didnt feel like the game was broken in any capacity, in fact quite the opposite.it was just a little obvious.

Smg 1 and 2 but fanboys would still deny even with years of testing, videos, calculations, and photographic evidence since Mario is slapped on the title.
