[QUOTE="Saturos3091"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Since we're naming great games with faults, then I'd like to add Resistance 2. The single player and story were pretty terrible. They surely didn't meet the bar that the prequel set for the franchise. The co-op is its saving grace.lild1425
Can I add Gears of War 2 then? The singleplayer and coop are great-above average but the online portion is absolutely atrocious due to numerous balance issues, bad netcode and poor map design.

The online definitely was not up to par. After the campaign, immediately went back to other games.

I played for awhile, enough that I ended up getting all the achievements. The online always struck me as being weaker than it's predecessor due to the balance. I can deal with some minor lag issues (the game has massive lag spikes though), and even the poor maps as long as the game is fun and balanced. I haven't given up hope yet like I did for the first game though, since a patch is in the works (it won't fix much though :?).

I don't understand why people are saying GTAIV, Bioshock, and Fallout 3. "Hey let's pick all the worthwhile games and trash them."lild1425
I think some are just placing their opinnions. Of course some might be lying but still.

Didn't you know? By stating disdain for popular and successful games, you can fool people into believing you're smarter and cooler than the masses :P

Sure. I'd add it, but I'm more of a single player guy, and it met and even surpassed my expectations in that department. Not much of a competitive multiplayer guy.

Perfect Dark Zero

They basically took the entire ball of great ideas that made the stellar original so amazing, made it bigger and still found a way to **** it all up.

I mean, I still liked the game but damn, such a let down compared to the original.

Wait, so you mean dialogue like "I'll drop you like a bad conversation" didn't turn you into a PDZ fan?

Crackdown. A superhero game in a GTA-style world? Great idea. But it was far too open. I wouldnt say the execution was "very" poor, but it wasnt what it could have been. They took the concept of free-roaming too far. From the moment you leave the base and start the game, you're free to do whatever you want. There are gangs and bosses to take down, but you do so literally by finding them in the city and killing them, either on the streets or in their various building and strongholds. There are no missions of any kind, no story progression, no anything. It was like a playground, rather than a game.

Probably Lair. I mean c'mon it looked awesome... but somewhere along the lines they screwed up. It's ok. Not as bad as every claims it to be.

 No. This is why I want Microsoft to absorb Free Radical (what's left of it anyway) perhaps they'll get at least some of the old talent back and can create the sequel Perfect Dark deserves instead of the prequel it doesn't.

I agree, it was missing a lot of things I liked about the original, but it wasn't a bad game, just not a great one either, and BioShockOwnz, that dialogue is horrible.

Compared to the original, it's bad, but on it's own it was ok at best, and I don't want the Perfect Dark series to end with a lackluster prequel, I want a sequel.

Yeah, Free Radical. I could use a little more "Boosh!" in my Perfect Dark...

- if they paid more attention to the combat system, AAA easily.

Lost Odyssey has an absolutely fantastic combat system, imo. I love the turnbased battles with the ring system. It's underrated to most people here. I would never say it had poor execution, but hey, that's your opinion.

no, i'm not hating the combat system, i just feel, if they gave the combat system a more "innovative feel" to it, the game would've been AAA easily...

but hey, i still think it's one of the two better JRPGs so far this gen, so no hatin'. :P

Crysis seriously horrible level design and story but it sounded really cool

theres also spore which was fun until you got past creature stage and you had a half assed RTS for the rest of the game

Shadowrun kinda qualifies. The idea was great. The execution of that idea (game mechanics and balance) was perfect without exaggeration. However, the content, graphics and other basic stuff weren't done right. It's a great game to play, but it never became really popular.

Still, more fun to play than any call of duty game online.

[QUOTE="PBSnipes"]GTA 4-DrRobotnik-
Now thats just plain outrageous. I'd honestly like to know how GTA IV is poorly executed. Seriously.

Two words: " Heyyyyyyyy Cuzzzzzinnnnn!!!!!!" Rockstar couldn't decide whether to make GTA 4 a realistic, dramatic game, or the same old GTA where everything is turned up to 11, thus making the characters too annoying for the dramatic scenes, and the (poorly done) combat too boring for the action sequences.

Star Fox Assault (Nowhere near the caliber of SF64) Kane and Lynch (Loved the game, but poor gunplay, braindead AI, and glitches kept it from being great) Two Worlds (Could have been an Oblivion killer if it wasn't so buggy. Also has terrible ren-fair caliber voice acting) Red Steel (I didn't mind the game, but found it generic on every level. And swordfighting was terrible) SPORE!!!!!!!!!!!! (Expected a deep game, got a shallow creature creator)
