Xbox 720 = Motion-sensing only
PS4 = motion sensing only
Wii 2 = obviously.

I suppose I would prefer motion controls in the near future. It's a cool idea but when done right, and not directed only towards the casuals.
If this meant that all consoles took the Wii approach to gaming, I'd be playing PC exclusively.
IF they utilized it to improve upon the dodgy controls in certain genres I'd be one happy little camper.
What if all 3 consoles were Motion-sensing Next-Gen?Then I would go back to being a PC only gamer.Tony-Baxter
I find it hilarious that alot of people are against this. The're probaly from the old-garde so they don't really like change I guess.
Most people only think of Wii Tennis when they hear Motion-sensing, and how it was mostly just waggling. Try something like RE4:Wii Editionor Metroid Prime 3 and you'll never go back to those old sticks. Not that I'm saying it's perfect but Rome wasn't build in one day either and with the introduction of the WiiMotionPlus thinks seem to go into the right direction.
Actually I'm not sure why I'm trying to defend this, anyone that can't see the potential probaly has an IQ of 2 digits. Nintendo presents the technology yet developers seem to make total **** out of it. That's not to blame on Nintendo or calling the tech ' gimmicky'.

It hasn't nothing to do with not liking change. I've used the wiimote and I didn't like it at all. I perfer the traditional controller. I just don't like moting sesning. This thread should be stickied because I guarantee about 75%(if not more, i amgiving you fanboys the benefit of the doubt)of the people who say they will "Quit gaming" if all consoles go the motion controller route will actually embrace it if Microsoft or Sony actually do something with it next gen. The people that say they will quit gaming are the people who see the Wii as nothing more than a Casual gaming system and as such believe that the Wii and motion controls are only suited towards mini/party game collaborations. The Hypocricy in this thread come next gen will be fantastic.

No. I hate gimmicks. Until motion-controls deliver to their potential, it is currently a gimmick.Oh but I can swing a sword!

That doesn't mean it's not better. The only reason the tradional controller seemsgood at times is because of the massive amount of auto-aim and there's always the gamesa tradional controller just feels better, usuallygames that don't require pinpoint precision.
I'm sure there will always be a tradional controller to fall back on, but you'll see that you will be dominated by anyone using a MotionSensing controller while you're trying to wiggle yourself around with your 'minimum auto-aim' controls.

BUT I don't want every game to have tacked on motion controls. Imagine a deep RPG with some gimmicky motion controls.
No main FF with motion controls either. Or SE is getting an unhappy Al at their doorstop.
Though I want to see an RTS game with the Wii-mote. That would be cool.

Oh, and motion-control can't possibly deliver to their potential next gen.:roll:Hell, it'll happen this gen. What this is is hypocrisy, or laziness, either one. Hardcore gamers are so fond of complaining that there's nothing new in gaming, but when motion controls come around it's "Why try something new when the old way works just fine?". Gee, what a great philosophy. In fact, why don't we just apply this everywhere? Why don't we just stop all scientific research? After all, everything works just fine now, right? Why not just play games the exact same way for all eternity?
Hardcore gamers are so fond of complaining that there's nothing new in gaming789shadowI don't complain about that at all. Stop making broad sweeping assumptions. A lot of long time gamers just don't like motion controls, period. Their isn't some underlying agenda, it's a personal preference of a few people on an obscure hobby forum on the internet.

I highly doubt that any new way of controlling games would be welcomed, ever. Controlling games with your mind? Why can't we just press a button?

That's fine that you like the Wiimote, I don't. I don't care if it's new, that doesn't matter to me. I don't want tacked on controls in every game. That's cool that you defend Nintendo to the death, I don't, I'm realistic and call stuff like I see it.
Do you seriously think the Wiimote is better than say...a KB+M? Would the Wiimote work for an intricate game like World of WarCraft? How about StarCraft? Like I said, you can like what you want but don't place your logic on every single person who doesn't think the same as you. I like the traditional way, you don't. That's great and all but don't try to make it seem like you're somehow better than I am because you're able to buy into everything new.

We went from locking on to an enemy in Zelda and mashing B until we win, to locking on to the enemy and waggling until we win. Not exactly the "revolution" we were promised.
I highly doubt that any new way of controlling games would be welcomed, ever. Controlling games with your mind? Why can't we just press a button?:roll:although i don't mind motion controls the wii's haven't been that great of a success, i'm sure people welcome new things when they are actually an improvement on old technology. The ds showed that a touchscreen is the best way to make shooters and point and click games etc. work on a handheld, the wii hasn't proved much yet. Fps's control better then dual analog, but apart from that not much else has been proved.789shadow

The Wii mote is better than dual analog for FPS and RTS for a start (we are talking about consoles here). Also, this is the first version. I would expect improvements for the next generation (instead of SOny fans, who want the same controller they had in 1995 and lemmings, who want a rip-off of it). And as a retired WoW hardcore (Gladiator and Kill'Jaeden killer) I lol to all those consolites wanting a wow port.Do you seriously think the Wiimote is better than say...a KB+M? No, I don't think the Wiimote is better than the KB+M. No, I do not defend Nintendo to the death, you should know better than that. And no, science and video games are not the same thing. However, when you apply the philosophy against the Wiimote to science, the borderline stupidity of that philosophy becomes clear. The most ridiculous thing about this is the assumption that motion controls cannot get better.

It's one-pronged, which is the only prong neccessary, because I believe this is the basis of the entie argument.
