Would it flop or would it do well? They have the stability and great hardware reputation. I bet they would make a decent console. what do you think?

I hear those things were real expensive when they launched it, but go for even more now because barely anybody got one and they're insanely rare.
Exactly. No thank you across the board, Apple. I'm a PC.Just like Macs: It would look pretty, have overpriced and underperforming hardware, poor software support, its biggest titles come from rival companies, and contains proprietary cables for just about everything, and the adapters cost more than the machine.

It would have the graphical power of the Nintendo 64, have a two button controller, cost $600 and would be re-released every 6 months but with some added functions and a smaller size, yet people would still flock to it claiming it is better than what Sony or Microsoft has to offer because "it just works" so they could say they're cool and hip.
It will be the usual Apple product
With all the emphasis on the outside of the console and not what it contains
It would effectively push Sony out of the business. Unlike Sony and M$, Apple actually knows how to make quality products that consumers want and enjoy using. Don't believe me? Which is dominant - iPod, Zune, or Walkman?
If they made one and it had a lot of developer support, I'd buy it. it would be sleek, have a lot of functionality and be built to perfection, like most Apple products. There are a lot of Apple haters on this forum, most of which have probably never owned a Mac.
Macs are overpriced but I don't know where people get underperforming hardware from.Just like Macs: It would look pretty, have overpriced and underperforming hardware, poor software support, its biggest titles come from rival companies, and contains proprietary cables for just about everything, and the adapters cost more than the machine.

in comparison to PC's the hardware is already outdated if you compare the price range.

Best CPU from Macs are like 2 years old.
Best GPU from Macs are like 2 years old.
4GB of RAM is 4 times more expensive.
Underperforming hardware?.... I wouldn't support a Console...but I'm currently browsing for a Macbook and my Powermac G4 is being restored....Yes....a Apple Mac product actually failedJust like Macs: It would look pretty, have overpriced and underperforming hardware, poor software support, its biggest titles come from rival companies, and contains proprietary cables for just about everything, and the adapters cost more than the machine.

Would it be called the iSuck? :P
All jokes aside, I don't see it happening.
jessmaster13
Yeah, unlikely, although if they did release a gaming console I think it will be called the iPwnd or iGame.
So much hate for apple. I don't wanna turn this into mac vs pc but have any of you here ever used a mac? I doubt it. Try to build a pc counterpart to the mac pro and tell me which one's cheaper. you'll be surpised.
epyonx3
Just look at the specs, you don't need to actually try the Mac. So tell me, how much did you pay for a ridiculous processor, and outdated graphics card that isn't even on the market today, ridiculous amounts of RAM, laughable storage space? 2 grand?
that last line is what all consoles have done. why can't you just use standard audio cable to connect ps3/x360 why no head phone jack? hdmi on ps3 is the only non proprietary cable. where is the vga port on the back of the 360? apple computers have usb, dvi standard audio jacks, x360 has next to no standard ports.Just like Macs: It would look pretty, have overpriced and underperforming hardware, poor software support, its biggest titles come from rival companies, and contains proprietary cables for just about everything, and the adapters cost more than the machine.

Wow, so you're comparing a full fledged PC to a Console in an effort to defend MAC? umm Apple fanboy here.
Wow, then Microsoft would have two companies constantly trying to kick their ***.thequietguy
You do realise that Sony and MS are business partners in some part of their companies, right? They aren't at war with eachother. They're just like any other company. They want to dominant piece of the market share is all. But they are still partners in some areas or they do business with eachother.
Well, I tried an ipod. and it was fragile. It broke after 2 drops. Most tell me I was unlucky with it. I got that first gen block called the Zune, and it takes some beating. Doesn't look as sleek but does the same thing, so I'm good.It would effectively push Sony out of the business.
