What if Microsoft release Scorpio for the same price as Neo?

Neo will be fine because people will want it for the exclusives. Think MS is going multiplat and Xbox Scorpio will be the entry level-mid range device?

I think it's in MS best interest to make its games multiplat between xbox and pc so they can drive up the software sales so games get more exposure.

So being the most powerful is back in, and the most important metric, again.

2013, pre-release of the console- the hope was that 300k private servers with the combination of the kinect 2.0 will render PS4 irrelevant. All in one was supposed to be THE thing.

2013, console launched- the hope here is a 2nd hidden gpu and superior optimization down the road.

2014- Teh CLOUD is real! Hope was that it increased the performance of the Xbone cuz additional AND faster ram, faster gpu and cpu could be downloaded directly from the cloud. Exclusive MS tech. only possible on Xbox One.

2015- DX12 will deliver a minimal performance increase of 30%. We don't listen to Phil because Phil didn't mention any ridiculous DX12 gains, we prefer listening to rumors so it makes our console look more powerful than the PS4.

2016- ABORT. I repeat, ABORT! We're moving to 9th gen. No one cares about 8th gen anymore *while its been under 3 years since 8th gen began lolz*

There was disaster of the ps3 launch with like a 200 dollar price premium over the xbox360. Even then, the ps3 sold more in a year than the amount of 360's sold that year.

I dunno. If its the same price as Neo I'd probably buy Scorpio. I know that I'm not interested in PS4 or Neo so really Scorpio is the only thing that interests me besides NX. But its going to have to have something awesome like Lost Odyssey 2 to make me want it.

I'm not sure it's gonna be a difference maker for Microsoft to be honest. The major problem with the Xbox One right now is the lack of any true exclusives for the console that people care about. If they continue making all of their console exclusives available for PC too, it doesn't really matter what console they build, there's not much of a reason to own it then

I get that some people are dismissive of good quality games simply due to genre, as some might dismiss racing games like Forza (although I recognize the quality, despite my dislike of racers), but the qualifier was simply "any good AAA exclusives".

A good game is a good game in my book, even if I may not like select genres, I wouldn't make a blanket statement claiming a platform hasn't had "any good games" when in fact, good AAA exclusives did actually release. Whether they intrigue a person is subjective, of course. Others may not deem XYZ as good games due to the games being in genres they don't like, but they are still good games even if not for select people:

Infamous Second Son, Halo 5, LBP 3, Sunset Overdrive, MLB: The Show, Forza 6, Until Dawn, etc

I don't know. It does not matter if MS makes the next Xbox the most powerful machine in the world if the games will be another Halo 10, Forza 10, Gears 10. They need to make new ip and invest in it.

I have no idea but I do believe one the reasons the PS4 was so successful was definitely because of the power difference with XOne. Bloodborne is not why the PS4 is at 40M units sold. Yes the PS4 game list is larger, but when the systems launched in 2013 the power difference with multiplatform games and how so many games hit 1080P native with PS4 vs XOne was the main thing people were talking about. That and the lower price. The larger game list came later, but that momentum of being a stronger system played a huge part in the PS4's success imo.
