What if modern warfare 2 was bad?

i would be so mad if this game ended up sucking. not that gears 2 is awful, but i expected it to be so amazing and that was a let down. same with many other sequels. All we want is new content and for them to fix some of the problems, but what if they screwed it up?

Modern Warfare 2 can't be bad simply because it's modern.

If it is any consolation, they couldn't make it any worse than WaW if they tried, and people seemed to enjoy that game right?

Im burnt out on Call of Duty. After CoD4 and WaW, theyre going to have to do something fresh to keep me hooked, especially in the multiplayer modes. If MW2 is a copy + paste job of 4, I probably wont buy it.

It would be hard for them to mess up, but I want them to exceed themselves, instead of letting the franchise become the next Guitar Hero.

If it was bad to me, then I'd call it a success for the developers. I didn't like CoD 3/4/5.

I doubt it will, Infinity Ward has two years to work on the game

I can't imagine it being bad. A ton of people like CoD 4 and a ton of them still play it today, many of which prefer it over CoD 5. So if the new one is anything like 4 (except with 2 more years of development and new ideas), then i think it will be fine. Also this one is by Infinity Ward who haven't made a bad game yet.

It won't, due to the success of the first.

The worst it can do is to do a complete rehash of MW1 with updated graphics/weaponary and score AA.

Well MW2 has high standards to live up to, inlcuding KZ2 graphics and more realistic gamplay, if it doesn't have at least ones of those things then it will not live up to the hype.
