One result of this that I could get behind: throwing the checkbook at a new "Tomb Raider," whether another reboot or a continuation of the modern trilogy. Microsoft knows it has an "action/adventure"-shaped gap in its portfolio a la "Uncharted." (Sorry, "Recore" doesn't cut it.)
