In my order I'd say Textures, Lighting, Poly Count/Tessellation, then resolution (not texture resolution) Resolution is last since I play on PC and that's something I can make whatever I please.

He got quad bonked :P
having a good mix is essential. But if I had to choose I would say resolution and AA. Counter-Strike: Source even looks great when I play it at 1080p with 8xMSAA :)
Resolution is the least on my list. honestly, a game running at 480p can look as nice as a 1080p game, only yes it will be smaller. The graphics dont change at all form 720p to 1080p or from 1080p to monitor resolutions of 1600x1200 and higher. It's all about textures, lighting, effects, and everything else.

Lower resolution won't make anything smaller. It'll stretch a smaller area to the same screen space, reducing detail and pixel density in the process.
Try loading Witcher 2 at 1920*1080, play for a few minutes and then load it in 720p.. It looks horrible.
All of them are important, but I'd say you can compensate the most with textures. I mean, look at how low poly World of Warcraft is, but with its amazing texture work, the game looks great. Halo has some of the best textures in the business, and it makes up for a lot of its graphical shortcomings.
Killzone 3 had much much much better textures then Halo 3 and Resistance 3 has textures that are about the same, albeit slightly better then any Halo game The reason why I don't regard Halo 3 or Halo Reach for that matter graphically is because the games looked pretty terrible every where else. I guess, if I had to choose, I would pick a game that is consistent in all of the areas. I rather have a game that's proficient at everything then a game that stands out in one area and fails at all the other areas ect Or even a game that is a stand out in two of the areas and decent everywhere else. The point is I like at least some consistentcy And when I am playing a game the things that will always catch my attention first and foremost are the animations, then character models, lighting, and levels...and of course the art style, which is very important In my opinion Uncharted 2 is still console graphics king Because its a consistent top notch and polished graphical package and not only are its technical graphics really good(for consoles) it has a soul behind its technical graphics in that it is very aesthetically pleasing and looks fresh....The Uncharted games are a nice breath of fresh air from all the Unreal Engine 3 games out thereAnyone who says textures is WRONG.
The two aspects of graphics this generation that make you stand out is LIGHTING and ANIMATION, both technically and artistically. If you nail both of those down very well, you can get away with the other aspects. Case in point: The Call of Duty games with last-gen tech, still looking alright. Same with Valve's source engine games.
Why not texture resolution, you say? Simply because, one of the most graphically notorious releases of this generation, Halo 3, has some of the best looking environmental textures, four years on, even better than Halo: Reach. How many people have called Halo 3 a graphical powerhouse?
I think I was the only one back in '07 :P

Framerate > Resolution/AA > Texture/Lighting
That is the basics of it, but obviously there is physics and so on to take into account, which for some games is VERY important, and for others not important at all.

It doesn't look horrible, it just looks smaller and sometimes a bit squished but that really depends on the size of the monitor you're using.Plus the difference between 1080p resolutions and larger than 1080p resolutions are so negligable, which is why resolution is the least important factor in graphics. Not that its unimportant, but the least important. Example: Uncharted 2 at 1080p looks identical to Uncharted 2 at 720p, but Uncharted 2 with lighting turned off and texture resolution dropped, or poly count down, or bump mapping off makes a huge impact on the graphics of the game at any resolution.Basically all the things that console Crysis 2 failed miserable at lolI think reducing jaggies, having a steady frame rate and getting rid of pop-ups are needed the most.

Yeah, I forgot about psychics. That is very important to me as well. Good physics will always wow me more then just doing nothing but staring at good textures lolFramerate > Resolution/AA > Texture/Lighting

Lets do a quick analysis of this picture:
Lighting - non existent
Polygon count - terrible
Textures - plain colours
Graphics - Amazing!
I voted for other
PAL360
Good to know that someone, other than me, remembers this amazing game!
Art direction is indeed one of the most important graphical aspects.
Absolutely amazing game that was!
