NG>>>>>>>>>>>>>HELLO KITTY ISLAND ADVENTURE>GOD OF BUTTON SMASHthrones
Why? You still haven'y explained why, and you can't complete the entire game of God War with just hitting the [] button, not even counting QTE here. It's platforming and puzzle segments and pretty fun, as was the pegasus mini-game. Combat is pretty satisfying and fun. The scale is also just epic on a new side of awesome. The game just reeks more 'fun' than NG. Like Halo 3 vs. Ghost Recon.
One's tactical, the other's a happy run and gun shooter. I know which one I'd choose.
A button masher is defined as a game where randomly pressing buttons will allow you to succeed. In this case, God of War's combat system looks something like this...
square, square, square, square, (initiate QTE sequence) square, square, TRIANGLE, square, sqaure, Tri... square...
NG won't allow that. You can kill a few enemies with Y, Y, Y... or X, X, X... but you won't last long if you're surrounded by foes. Countering has a small frame of opening to intiiate, to pull off some moves, they require analog movement, timing of buttons, and correct button press combos. Certain moves work better on certain enemies, you need to think how to battle... it's akin to fighting games
What if you don't want a fighting game in your hack and slash, what if you just want to enjoy the button mashing in a deeply calming way that only violence can do? I found Ninja Gaiden too complicated for it's own good. As a side note, I also dislike fighters. And God of War has a good enough combat system, and you do have to block and dodge if you play on a higher difficulty. Don't forget that your character placement is important, and puzzles and platforming. And pegasus sequences :D
And bosses, the bosses are epic.
thats your opinion and your in the minority, by the way you didnt even play against the alam boss that was epic awesome.
