Poll What is Sony's best Mascot of all time? (71 votes)
I know Sony has had quite a few different ones. Not as popular as Nintendo's Mario or Sega's Sonic obviously.

Solid Snake... for the very brief time we associated MGS with PlayStation only.
The only exclusive MGS games are MGS4 and Portable Ops.
and MGS1, meaning back when the games were only on the PlayStation, like i said.
you also forgot Ac!d... and the DGN...
MGS came out on the PC. And MGS2S was released on both PC and Xbox.
The Metal Gear series also started on the MSX2 and the NES in the West. A NINTENDO console.

Also, let's not forget the MSX2 was a Microsoft home computer platform. In addition, Metal Gear was ported to DOS PC as well.
In other words, Microsoft, Nintendo and PC already had Solid Snake before Sony ever got their hands on him.

uhh... yeah... And The Twin snakes came out on the GCN too. MGS1 was released on the PS1 in 1998... while didnt come to PC until 2000. Also, MGS2 came out in 2001, the series remaining a PlayStation console exclusive until the end of 2002 when Subsistence finally came to the Xbox.
like I keep saying... "for the time we associated MGS with PlayStation only."
Can we stop this now? I'm not wrong.
@Jag85
Oh, I know. But the Solid series specifically (like ive been saying) have stayed a PS exclusive up until 2000... while remaining a console exclusive up until 2002

But you are wrong. Metal Gear has never been a "PlayStation franchise".
It started on a non-Sony platform, and is now being consistently released on multiple platforms. The only exclusive games in the entire franchise left are MGS4 and Portable Ops. It doesn't matter if they were timed exclusive to begin with, they aren't anymore.

are all PlayStation exclusives.
Other Metal Gear Solid games come out for the PlayStation first, with the exception of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Metal Gear Solid 5. Twin Snakes of the Gamecube is a remake of Metal Gear Solid.

And only one of those is a main series entry.
What a list of "exclusives" to brag about.
They really represent the PlayStation brand. It's funny how hard PlayStation fanboys cling to the idea that Metal Gear is a "PlayStation" game. Even Konami doesn't cling to that idea anymore.

exactly... thank you.
@foxhound_fox
metal gear came out during the 8-bit era before the playstation brand even existed, i know.... but i clearly stated the "Solid" series.
you are unworthy of your username.
Crash Bandicoot was pretty much the only mascot they ever had. Or at least the only one they pushed as a marketing mascot. And it did very well for them. But Sony don't need one since their brand is already the top dog around the world. The PS logo is pretty much their mascot now.
Nathan Drake definitely is now for the PS4.
For the PS3, it was Nathan Drake the majority of the time.
PS2, Jak and Daxter both.
PS1. Crash and Spyro.
