The choices in the poll are GOTY winners from GS and IGN within the last 5 years. I'm surprised Journey won.
Either Xenoblade, Bravely Default, Danganronpa 1 and 2, Virtues Last Reward or Rayman Origins
I played the Rayman Origins demo fairly recently. It was a blast. I'm waiting for a sale and I'm going to grab it(I'm a cheapskate.)
I'm not kicking it off the list that easily, so honorable mention aka 11) Spelunky
10) Rayman Origins
9) The Swapper
8) Deus Ex Human Revolution
7) Persona 4 Golden
6) Tearaway
5) Virtue's Last Reward
4) Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
3) Dark Souls
2) Metal Gear Rising
1) Super Mario Galaxy 2
Persona 4 Golden, if it counts. If it does not count, A Link Between Worlds, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Smash Wii U, Cvilization V, and Bloodborne would all get a shout.
Diablo 3
LOL
Yep, over 4000hrs played and still fun to play. No other game comes even close to that...
Diablo 3 is great game. There is a reason why people played Diablo 2 for over a decade. Blizzard games have a lot of replay value.
Other, I haven't owned a Sony console since the PSP and the multi-plats aren't the best games. Though I did enjoy Skyrim (best recent game for modding), Portal 2 and Shadow of Mordor.
My favourite game of the last 5 years is Total War: Shogun 2 and my game of the moment is The Witcher 3

So true
Dota 2 = Art style, sound design, replayability, established history, mod-friendly, depth, professional scene, amount of teaching tools, huge community, multi-culturalism and language simulator.
It's free-to-play perfected to a science. Nothing is hidden behind a paywall and outside of ranked queus all game modes are available from the moment you first load the game.
IT IS NOT newcomer friendly and assholes are given every tool to express their assholery but thankfully you can mute everyone and anyone.
Those options are all terrible except Portal 2 and ALBW simply because it's a LTTP clone.
I foresee "other" winning this poll.
They are terrible options, but it's what GS and IGN chose as their GOTY over the last 5 years.

People are still under the impression D3 is still the same as it was at launch, so it still receives hate.
From 2010 to now?
Bayonetta was 2009, bro

Came out the same month as Mass Effect 2. Trust me there were a lot of fun GUFU threads from 2010.

Too little, too late.
Crusader Kings 2. EU4 is better in many ways, but the role-playing elements, intrigue, and succession laws really make CK2 different to and somehow better than every other strategy game I've ever played. Even the awful amount of DLC is forgivable in my eyes, since the game gets regularly updated to the point where it's far superior to the original version even without purchasing any DLC, plus it fairly regularly gets marked down by 75%.

Yeah,,, it's completely different game now. IMO even on launch it wasn't a bad game. It was a very good game but not 'Blizzard-Good'. Now it's excellent in its current state. And TBH, when something becomes famous, it also gets a lot of hate for no reason, no matter how good it is.
It's not like they release sequels every year. They take their time even with expansions and get it right. When something isn't as good as expected, they improve it with updates like Diablo 3. That's symbol of a good team IMO, who doesn't want to be remembered as devs of a mediocre game. That's the reason why they aren't afraid to cancel projects if they fail to live up to expectation, even if it means loss of millions of dollars.
Destiny
Farcry 3
The Stanley Parable
Max Payne 3
Last of Us
Mass Effect 3
I raids were good in MOP so WOW (still)
Infamous Second Son
Rocket League (once they fix the lag issue)
Civ V
SHOGUN 2
Winner: Dark Souls
Yeah I am going to have to say this from a SW perspective.. This game was released on multiple platforms and has reached wide acclaim to the point that people still play it to death to this day..
