What is the best COD?

With the extreme popularity of the call of duty franchise this question comes to mind. What is the overall best out of the franchise?

Call of Duty: The one the started it all.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare: The one that innovated the fps multiplayer genre.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The one the refined everything about its predecessor.

Call of Duty World at War: Zombie mode!!!!!!!!!

Call of Duty 3: The first of the franchise to hit the next generation of consoles.

MW2.But people will still go on and vote for the 1st one becuase,well,it was the 1st one.

The first one for me. The series lost its charm for me when it got consolized, and I hated the regeneration of health crap.

CoD 1 was the best (UO included) then its MW > MW2 > others

I agree,no regenerating health does make the game better.

IMO they all suck.

The only different between COD1 and MW2 is regenerating health and a different setting.

Uh, obviously the story would be different. I didn't mention it because who plays FPS for story? It's irrelevant.

Obviously the graphics would be different, but I like to play my games, not look at them. It doesn't make the gameplay any better or worse, therefore it is irrelevant.

No. The games are nearly identical. I forgot to mention the addition of a sprint button.

IMO they all suck.

MW > COD2 > COD > The rest

cod,cod 2,longer campaign,less messed up multiplayer etc.

Alright RichardStallman, then lets talk gameplay. What happens while your playing the games? Yes they have very similar controls however what happens as a result of the gameplay is the meat of an fps experience. In that regard the games are different experiences.Lable1985

I'm going with the first one, before it got the console FPS style of gameplay and mechanics. I also will say by seeing the newer games they all just seem like mods of COD2.

CoD 4: Modern Warfare. I would have gone for CoD: WaW but Treyarch basically copied the game and added a few new things. They didn't want to take a risk - IW did, and boy did it pay off big time.

Either Call of Duty 2 or Modern Warfare.

You know what? Im actully gonna be truthful because ive actully played all of these of the main series games and im saying

wheres call of duty 2?

COD4, mainly because of Gillies in the Mist, my all time favorite FPS level of all time. Also the story was good and so were the graphics, and it had some incredible set pieces, also, I prefer COD4's multiplayer.

CoD > CoD4:MW > CoD2 > CoD:MW2 > CoD:WAW > CoD3

Call of Duty, simply put the best of them all.

No Call of Duty 2? Oh well.
