new super mario world, sega rally (saturn), deus ex and DE invisible war, resident evil, street fighter 2 and 3, marvel vs capcom 2, martal konbat, virtual fighter 2, ridge racer, doom. most of these are not from the last 12 years but from resident evil to doom no games made a bigger impact in 3D games except the over-rated grand theft auto. a great game, but still over-rated.

i miss interplay. the PC was truly in a golden age when they were at the height of there power (and EA were just some little sports comany that also made C&C and ultima online..wow how things have changed). so many great games from so many great devs, all under interplays mighty wing. its a shame they were managed by hedgehogs.

however i wouldnt rate any of those as the best game of the last 12 years (crackin games that they are...though i never liked fallout for some reason..wasnt my thing). that title goes to deus ex 1. best game ever made in this inudstries history imho.

These are the best IMO:

-relative to the industry: Zelda: OoT

Multiplayer-wise, Warcraft 3, followed by Diablo 2.
Singleplayer-wise, Xenosaga Episode 3, followed by Tales of Symphonia

love these games too much. Sly 2 was the best platformer last generation by far. Underrated, because people expected that the platformer genre will further progress. Assasin Creed should have copied sly 2 gameplay, and would have been amazing.
