What is the best Halo game?

shit accidentally clicked reach. i was gonna say halo 2 because of the meh campaign but incredible multiplayer. halo 3 had the best campaign, halo 2 had the best multiplayer.

No clue , but i like Halo 2.

I loved Halo 1 in both singleplayer and co-op. But apart from perfecting FPS on a controller and some brilliant switching between FPS/vehicle sections I think the media forgot some of it's glaring issues. The repeating levels being the worst offender.

Halo 2 felt like a major letdown when it came to SP and co-op.

And I kind of stopped there. Halo 2 let me down and other, better FPS came around. I have every single Halo game, with most of them waiting to be played.

Halo: Combat Evolve without a question. CE is the correct answer, yes sir Mr. charizard1605, it is.

Toss-up between Halo 2 and Halo 3 for me.

Reach was my personal favorite.

I think 3 had the best campaign and the best multi player levels and weapons.

I don't know I'm between Halo 3 and Halo Reach, both are awesome, I prefer H3 multiplayer, but I loved Reach Campaign, I'm going to show some love to Halo Reach

Halo 2 is my favorite.

Halo 3... Duh.

Halo CE.....I still have memories of playing that on the OG Xbox and is what made me an Xbox fan till this day.

Halo 3 by quite a bit. Everything great about Halo came together perfect in Halo 3 but the series just went downhill from there imo. H3 had an amazing campaign and the best MP of the series.

I have played 1, 2, 3, and only a little bit of Reach. Out of those, I like the first one the best. I love the campaign, the weapons feel powerful, and multiplayer is a blast. I didn't like Halo 2 outside of the multiplayer, Halo 3 was just alright, and I didn't play enough of Reach to judge whether I liked it better than the others.

Halo 3 for sure.

ODST was the worst.

CE. None of the other ones have come close to providing the same amount of fun I had with both versions of the first game.

I've only played Halo CE, 2 and 3, and out of those three i'll have to go with CE. It's a masterpiece, though it doesn't really give you any indication of that unless you play on Heroic or Legendary difficulty level.

Halo 4 campaign was my favorite because I loved the story between Cortana and Chief. Halo 2 multiplayer WAS DA BEST EVER PERIOD!?!?! Call of Duty even at it's best wishes it could be that fun. Sorry CoD fans. And I am hype for Halo 5.

Halo 4 has my favorite campaign.

Halo 2 was the one I probably the most fun playing multiplayer with.

Halo 3 was the overall most complete package.

Reach was solid, enjoyed ODST a fair bit, and CE is the classic.

So looking forward to Halo 5.

Halo Reach and 2 were the two I enjoyed most. Reach more for multiplayer

3 was the best followed by 4 for me. I liked ODST too. Never played Reach.

Combat Evolved. I've only played 1-3 and enjoyed them all, but CE is on its own level as one of the best games I've ever played.

Halo 2, the multiplayer was and even now is still superb.

I love them all but hard to go past Halo 1 for me... there's a lot of nostalgia there but.

If I had to go off nostaglia and memory it would be

2, 3, 1, 4, odst, reach

But after playing through them again on halo MCC, I can safely say they all got progressively better. so it goes 4, 3, 2, 1, odst, reach (didn't replay reach since it's not in the MCC)

For MP, i'd have to say 3, 4, 2, 1 I counted 1 lower becuase it was only LAN and not on XBL, but with MCC i could play all on XBL and i like 3 the best. So far with the halo 5 beta though, I feel it's gonna be the best MP in the series. Halo > every other game.

That game was truly innovative and fun as shit.

Halo 2 & 3 were just carbon copies with dual wielding.

Haven't even cared to play any of the games since the 3rd one.

I'd go with Halo 3 just because of Forge. It took custom games to a whole new level.

Halo: CE for campaign, Halo 2 for MP.

Overall: CE > 2 > Reach > 4 > 3 > ODST > Spartan Assault + Strike

Great Campaign, amazing Multiplayer, the reason why you bought a 360.

Never had a 360 or X1 to play 3 and beyond, but of the first 2 I liked 2 better.

I will admit I only have MCC to go on. What a great collection that is, one of the best games compilations ever.

Yeah I think a lot of people that hated on 4 was more from not being bungie and nostalgia from 3 which came out like 5 years before 4 did which is a long time. Playing through them all again in order back to back really gives a good perspective. The only thing wrong with Halo 4 MP was BTB and slayer because of the load outs and ordinance. Glad they got rid of that for halo 5. Halo has always been about skill on a fair playing ground and halo 4 moved away from that a little. halo 5 is bringing it back. For halo 4, the extra movement made it better then 3 in some modes like grifball and swat. and the flood mode was great as well

the original is not only the best halo game but my absolute favorite game period. be it sp or mp, that game was fucking magic in my eyes. all the halo games are strong however, i've got nothing bad to say about any of them.

I have a soft spot for ODST.

Halo CE was probably the best for its time. My friends and I pretty much played this nonstop until Halo 2 arrived.

Played all of them back to back just a two or three months back (all except Reach), they're all pretty great still. Hope we get a Reach DLC to finish off the Halo MCC collection. Maybe 343 will get on that after the release of Halo 5.

Halo 3 has soooo much content its ridiculous. And all very polished.

I can't comment on the MP I only played Halo MCC SP and I thought it was amazing. I am quite proud as well to say that having played them all I still largely have no clue at all what was going on in any of them lol. I have a general picture which seems to be as much as you get unless you read the books and follow online lore sites etc which I'm not quite motivated to do.
