(This is not a troll thread these are my HONEST opinions) When debating about consoles against 360 fanboys, they always bring up Halo 3. " Halo 3 is better than Killzone 2" " The Wii is for casuals and doesn't have Halo 3" That last quote I find very funny. Right now Halo 3 is second on Major Nelsons most played list, been in the top 3 for 3 years. Now to my point, I got Halo 3 a couple weeks ago I wanted to see if I was missing out. The multiplayer is really mediocre and boring I would rather play MW2 and that's saying A LOT. I started the campaign yesterday, I'm about half way through. And let me tell you I WAS BORED OUT OF MY MIND!!! It's so boring! And don't think I'm just saying this because I favor PS3 and Wii. I thought Gears of War 2 campaign was VERY epic! I loved it. But with Halo 3 it's just very bland and boring. It's like I'm going through the motions shoot, melee knock the brute's armor off melee again kill him. This is like the whole game and also melee'ing a bunch of grubs. Seriously, Why is this game so popular? Call of Duty is better than it, Gears of War is better than it, I mean seriously. I was actually kinda excited to play this game. Am I the only one?

You are three years too late.

In fact, your thread stating what's the big deal with Halo 3, three years after it's released, still shows how much of a big deal it is.

Also, try playing 4-player co-op with friends.

I think it's possibly the best multiplayer this gen :) Also love that I can play single player, 4 player co op, 4 player death match, or online, in fact online with 3 friends all on the one machine, it's a very versatile game.

the campaign is weak, the multiplayer is good but lately ive been really enjoying mw2 muchhhh more. its just that type of game which every 10 yr old gets and then 20 yr olds get it to see what the hype is about. if it was released today it wouldnt have scored as high.

I KNOW Halo 3 is a big deal I'm asking why.

As it has an extremely good multiplayer, which, IMO, is the best on consoles, only rivaled by PC TF2.

As it allows for you and three of your friends to play campaign, whether they are online, or in your own house, and then seamlessly switch to multiplayer.

No one cares that you don't like the game?

Honestly these "I don't see what the big deal is about ______" threads should be considered trolling. As if anything someone says will make you change your mind and enjoy the game. Millions of people like halo, you dont. Obviously its a big deal and your just an unfortunate exception

Learn the weapon spawns, get used to the controls, and master 4 shot br kills. Come back when you've done that, but you most likely won't because you'll be addicted by then.

I've been playing Halo ever since it came out,and I thought Halo 1 and Halo 2 were awesome, and I still think that.Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST seem fairly boring compared to them imo.

Doesn't matter if I'm 3 years late to the party there's still thousands of people playing it online and it doesn't take long to get in a match. I played gears of war 2 a year late to the party but I still liked it.

TC you said you are just starting to play the campaign? How far have you got. I know the first time I played it I felt the same way about the game as I didn't get that far and it was very underwhelming to start. I think the game really starts to mix it up on thehalf way throughwith vehicles and huge ships to detroy. I still don't think it is the best FPS out there but I can see the appeal of the game. It is easy to pick up unlike KZ2 which controls just suck and it has cute sounds that kids will like. LOL. I do think it is more a comical shooter as the Aliens seem more like things you would see in R&C(well not thatkiddy but still the sounds they make are comical to me). Still a decent game just give it more time. I've just a 360 slim and I love my PS3 so I'm in a similar point of view as you. Not the best FPS but I can see the appeal especially since MP is where this game really shines.

siddhu33

yeah, the original post in conjunction with the title was full of possible self-ownage.

TC hasn't even tried Halo 3's other features, which really helps set it apart from other shooters.you're also arguing preference. While I agree Gears 2 has more 'wow'(COD wins this too)factor and better bossfights, it's just not as good as Halo's universe, story and level design. really, Gears of War has some terrible linearity that makes it unenjoyable for me.

how you went about killing the covenant describesevery other shooter as well. not really seeing the point. Mediocre multiplayer is preference again, you probably haven't tried everything the MP offers. for one, COD doesn't have Halo's balance, or competitive edge while we're at it.

try some multi-team, Double EXP weekends (preferably infection)

and I don't understand the Wii is casual because it doesn't have Halo part? what, one person said that to you, so all Halo fans imply it? never seen such a stupidly specific situation used to bash the Wii.

Elites don't fire nukes:shock:

but I'm pretty sure you're right before Halo 3's best two missions.

The multiplayer was fun at first and got stale. My favorite was social big team, team rockets, etc.

blackgamer1213

Lol, made up quote.

Yeah, okay. So you found it boring, no real criticisms about the game made.

There are a variety of weapons to mix things up, each have their own advantages depending on the enemy, there are a variety of vehicles, there is equipment to strategically use. Maybe you are playing on easy where equipment doesn't make a big impact. Anyone that has played any FPS before should play on Heroic at least.

Halo 3 is far from my favourite game on the 360, but I can see why people would like the game so much. Online is a blast and very varied, learn to play and you will see, use each weapon to its advantage. Relax, you have an opinion, so do other people.

While nothing about Halo 3's multiplayer might seem like a big deal today, that's only because other games like Modern Warfare have thoroughly aped what made Halo 3 good in the firstplace. If you'd played Halo 3 back when it was meant to be played, you'd have understood. Even I, a self professed FPS hater to the core, cannot help but be awed by Halo 3's tight controls, it's awesome storytelling, it's wonderful, wonderful multiplayer, and it's lasting appeal. Halo 3, my friend, is a VERY big deal.

I didn't make this thread to bash Halo 3 for some reason people love the game, I was just trying to see exactly WHY because I don't really like it (granted I haven't finished it, I'm about to do that now) I respect the fact that you guys like Halo, I wanted to see if anyone experienced what I was experiencing which was basically boredom. You guys shouldn't be so sensitive it's just a game.

You act as if your opinion is the right one, no ones opinion is. It just happens that most people who played Halo 3 enjoyed it. You said yourself you know this is a popular game, so don't be surprised when people respond to your posts and disagree with you, telling you what's good or why they liked the game. I also respect your opinion and have already replied to your OP. You're right, it's just a game, but your over reaction contradicts that.

You guys shouldn't be so sensitive it's just a game.

blackgamer1213

LOL what do you expect people's reaction to be since this is a game forum?

You are three years too late.

In fact, your thread stating what's the big deal with Halo 3, three years after it's released, still shows how much of a big deal it is.

Also, try playing 4-player co-op with friends.

siddhu33

I KNOW Halo 3 is a big deal I'm asking why.

As it has an extremely good multiplayer, which, IMO, is the best on consoles, only rivaled by PC TF2.

As it allows for you and three of your friends to play campaign, whether they are online, or in your own house, and then seamlessly switch to multiplayer.

There is no 4 player splitscreen campaign mode.

Unfortunately, my Halo 3 no longer works (Maps don't start after loading past 50%)

But do you have a link or something that you can provide?

I'm pretty sure the reason why there was no 4 player offline coop was because of technical limitations and not a time factor.

[QUOTE="blackgamer1213"] Doesn't matter if I'm 3 years late to the party there's still thousands of people playing it online and it doesn't take long to get in a match. I played gears of war 2 a year late to the party but I still liked it. blackgamer1213

If you like Gears of War 2 then you're the problem.

HAI GUIZE! WHATZ TEH BIG DEEL ABOUT HALF LIFE 2? I PLAYED IT AND IT TEH SUCKED. I LIEK HOUR OF VICTORY MOAR!

Me liking Gears of war 2 makes me the problem? And you have a torque bow n your avatar....riiiiight.

You do know the Torque Bow was in Gears 1 right, and that my avatar is the gamerpicture for unlocking the Torque achievement in Gears 1?

Gears 2 is terrible. Campaign is a borefest, story is probably worse than MW2 and the multiplayer, ha. There's a reason they always have a 6x, 8x and now 20x EXP event. To get people to actually play the game.

No, the game got an update later. Once you update the game, it gets four player online. At least, I think it does. That's the reason why all my progress in Mission 4 was erased, and I had to start over. Or so I was told. Lemme look for a link though

[QUOTE="locopatho"]I think it's possibly the best multiplayer this gen :) Also love that I can play single player, 4 player co op, 4 player death match, or online, in fact online with 3 friends all on the one machine, it's a very versatile game.

Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, World of Warcraft, Modern Warfare 2.. etc :P

Yes, Halo has no offline 4 player split screen co-op mode.

It's unfortunate, but maybe with the power of the new Xbox they'll be able to add that to a future Halo game.

I just... hope there IS no new Xbox for another four to five years at least. I'm quite happy with the current console generation as it's going now.

There is a glitch to get it to 3 players in offline campaign co-op though.

It's an odd game. The singleplayer is a mix of great and terrible, it has it's ups and downs however the 4 player coop is an absolute mess (really terribly tacked on) and the inconsistent visuals haven't exactly aged well. However. The multiplayer is the most robust there is on a console, it plays very well (as does the game in general), the community features are fantastic as with the other multiplayer additions like replays and forge. A good game, the multiplayer truly feels like the main attraction which is unsurprising considering Halo 2 was similar in this regard, and this is the major source of the games constant popularity. It's just a shame the singleplayer doesn't do the series any justice and is as flawed as it is, though admittedly it is a major improvement on Halo 2's mess. Haven't played ODST but I have heard it rectifies some of 3's problems in regard to singleplayer from friends.
