What is the biggest surprise of 2007?????????????????

-Halo 3 selling like crack to fiends?

-PS3's lack of success and "forced" price drop?

-Mario Galaxy

-Wii keeping it's momentum after everyone believed it to be a fad?

-360's killer library?

To me, personally? Mario Galaxy getting past the hype and actually being the best mario since 64. To everyone else i'd guess it's how well the wii is selling.

Has anyone else noticed how the "wii is a fad" topics are died down?

That I bought both a Wii and a PS3. I would never have guessed that in 2006. Seriously. I had no desire for either, but now love both.

That, and finding out how incredibly good Orange Box is.

Watching the PS3 get 2 prices drops in less then 6 monthsand still not be able to outsell the XBox 360 or Wiiin the U.S.

Watching Halo 3 surpass 4 million sold before the end of the year.

Watching R&C, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Lair all FLOP after being hyped to death all year by Cows. True, Mass Effect did flop as well, but games like Bioshock, Orange Box and Halo 3 were all "AAA" and met or surpassed their hype.

I think everything is expected since the beginning of 07. I guess the fact that Mass Effect got an 8.5.aznfool07

No kidding. People were hyping it off of the graphics and the fact that it had a bazillion soldiers on screen. Then the gameplay turns out to be an epic pile of suck.

NHL 08 having some of the best AI. Ever. Period. I now keep my 360 in a cage lest it get all Terminator on my ass.PBSnipes

I was pleasantly surprised at the entire game. Best hockey game since NHL 94 IMO

The PS3's library of brilliant AAAE's. Who would have thought it had the firepower to produce such high quality gaming...

i love your hate towards the PS3, the price drop was not forced it was actully a grand idea
anyways my few 07 surprises were
1)Getting hooked on GH3, never really got into it
2)Uncharted, one of my fav Action adventure games of all time
3)Folklore, the art ****and visuals are amazing looking in this game
4)Portal, one of the best game experiances i have ever had
5)assassins creed being a big let down
6)Skate, this game is addicting and so fun to play with my friends

Lair, flopping as hard as it did. I was expecting a flop, but not an epic one.

Mass Effect getting an 8.5. Pretty surprised.
