Gears of war 2 because it has blood and chainsaws and stuff.Wii_Gamer_277Oh, so you're a lemming. :P
Im going to say Legend of Zelda. Because that was like the first game of its kind, were you needed to save because it was so complex that it couldnt be beat in one sitting, it was a new kind of beast. It was the first real adventure in gaming imo.
Mario is more like Gone with the wind lmao
I guess there is more then one right answer but I don't agree with Mario, Citizen Kane was an evolution in techniques and story telling, camera work etc As inspired as the Mario's were and are, I just don't think it fits.
Agreed. There's no way it should even come near a list like that.Sorry but CoD 4 is not video games' Citizen Kane. No ****ing way.
Vaasman
That list wasn't a top 10. It was just showing the innovative games over the years.Sorry but CoD 4 is not video games' Citizen Kane. No ****ing way.

Not only that but:
Pioneered: Innovative storytelling techniques that used multiple characters and perspectives, RPG-style multiplayer progression.
I have to laugh at the above criteria.

Addictive =/= innovation. And personally, no, I thought CoD 4's MP was hyper-streamlined and boring.

I stopped taking this list seriously when they didn't even add Chrono Trigger, and for some reason they called Cod4 innovative? That is just so cute, they sound like they started playing FPS's recently. Call of duty 4 stole it;s RPG progression based Multiplayer from Rainbow Six, which by far has so much more depth than COD4. And I think Halo: Combat Evolved should replace COD4, considering it showed that not only really talented people can make FPS's on consoles(Goldeneye), but also simpleton's. Goldeneye should replace Half-Life 2, no offense. Other than that, some really bad choices, but also some good ones.
If there was anything comparable it would be the Gran Turismo franchise. It goes from
1: perfect
2: impossible (600 cars in one game)
3: best graphics seen in a game although sligtly less cars (my least fave)
4: hyper-perfect
PSP: (unreleased) ZOMFG!!! 800 CARS???
5: ZOMFG!!! 1K CARZ!?!?!?
5: (again) ZOMFG!!! F16s and NASCAR?!?!?
Legend of Zelda: OoT, LoZ: aLttP, PlaneScape Torment, XenoGears, Vagrant Story, FF6, Half Life 2IMO of course.
I would say Command and Conqure and Legend of Kane :P
Anyways I would really say Chrono Trigger, Sim City, and Half Life. Why is Call of Duty 4 on that list?
And Half-Life 2.That's a pretty good list of influential games. The only one on there that blatantly doesn't belong is CoD4.
t3hTwinky
[QUOTE="t3hTwinky"]And Half-Life 2.Why not? its pretty much storytelling perfection, and one of the most thoughtfully and intelligently designed games to this day. I don't think two Half Life games should be there though. That's a pretty good list of influential games. The only one on there that blatantly doesn't belong is CoD4.
