the dreamcast controller

I personally like the DualShock controller. Since it's has a simple and easy-to-remember layout and it's even a little comfortable to hold. :PCloud_765
That's one of my main reasons for liking the DualShock so much. I know the layout and can't ever forget it.
Gamecube Controller it has a nice feel to it.

I love my GC and my N64. BUT for GODS sake!!How in the world can anyone like those controllers? I love NIN but they have went on the other side of the spectrum with their controllers compared to other companies. This is the only reason I dont play ninconsoles that much. I have all their consoles, but they have a lot to learn about doing a correct controller.
I'm torn between the Dualshock and 360 controller. I prefer the Dualshock's d-pad but I love the triggers on the 360.
Between the current gen consoles, 360-only owners would say the 360 controller is best, PS3-only owners would say DS3, Wii-only owners would say the Wiimote, 360/PS3 owners would say the 360 controller, 360/Wii owners would say the 360 controller, PS3/Wii owners would say the DS3, and 360/PS3/Wii owners would say the 360 controller. and any professional game journalist would say the 360 controller. As well as any multiplatform game developer.
I don't agree. If they replaced the d-pad and thumbstick it would be 100 times better.[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]
Dualshock... 3 gens and still working great.
Litchie
The GC controller if my favourite so far.
The D-Pad is one of it's best features. Same with the thumbsticks.

It's a good d-pad, but it would be nice if the thumbstick (which is the one you use the most) was in the place where the thumb (my thumb and 3 of my friends) likes to rest, instead of the d-pad.[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]360 is the best controller ever made.... I dont feel like im exaggerating when i say thatMarthRingmanAs long as you pretend the D pad doesn't exist. I'm confused, what is exactly wrong with the D-pad? I haven't had any troubles with it, and I play plenty of GTA4. I know the PS2 d-pad was the iffy one for me, but that was partially because of placement.
i liked the flexibility of the nintendo 64 controller
you could use it in your right or your left or both hands and just for kicks you could use two nintendo 64 controllers in goldeneye 007 lol give it a shot lol
the wii controller is somthing like this , which is why this one is best
-the original snes controller/classic controller 2nd
then the original dual shocks 3rd , the ps3 one is not as good you dont have to even push on the r 2 for itt fire your guns , and that causes a problem in stealth games like rainbow six vegas
all of them have their flaws
none of them work for all games,
it really depends on what games you play most
[QUOTE="MrHenadonia"]That monstrosity is a disturbing sight. My eyes are bleeding lol.Truly ahead of its time.

LOL, sure it looks like a rocket ship, but it was the fist self centering analog stick I had played, I got it before the 64. It was amazing at the time...

Love the lack of bias in this post.
I'd say the 360 controller. The Duelshock needs better 'triggers' and the gamcube controller felt like an unresponsive toy to me, the buttons didn't have enough 'snap' to them.
Here, I think you'll find this interesting.Between the current gen consoles, 360-only owners would say the 360 controller is best, PS3-only owners would say DS3, Wii-only owners would say the Wiimote, 360/PS3 owners would say the 360 controller, 360/Wii owners would say the 360 controller, PS3/Wii owners would say the DS3, and 360/PS3/Wii owners would say the 360 controller. and any professional game journalist would say the 360 controller. If a 3rd party decides to make a controller shaped like the 360 one, but instead switched the position of the left stick and the D-pad while adopting a dualshock-like D-pad and make it compatible with both 360 and PS3, I would use that controller until I die. :P
Since that doesn't exist, I gotta say that I perfer the DS2 from all the controllers I have tried. It would be DS3 if it had better triggers. I saw a trigger add-on for it at EB games that makes it concave and bigger but I haven't tried them yet.
Remember the banana controller
If Sony made that the standard PS3 controller, OMG....

I remember that. I was like, "What the Hell happened to the DualShock!!!!!"

That's why so many developers use the R1 button, something that should've happened with the DualShock 1.
I agree 100% with this!! hands down my favorite controller. It just fits my hands perfectly and I can hold it comfortably for hours on end. Wii set up is a close second followed by the PS series of controllers. In my opinion the gamecube controller fits really well and has great button placement.

Of course none of them are flawless or else there wouldn't be this thread to start with. Gaming aside we can still critique or compare each controller individually based on it strengths and weaknesses without really needing to play the game. I can say the Xbox 360 dpad is terrible to say the least, and the Dualshock 3 have bad trigger and button placement. Anyway for me it is the Gamecube controller, everything about it is great except for the small dpad and the position of some them are sort of off in my opinion.all of them have their flaws
none of them work for all games,
it really depends on what games you play most
