Majora's Mask was better than OoT.

The greatest game of all time doesn't exist. Not only does it change between people, but people's opinions can change over time when they play new games. i.e. last gen I thought Shadow of the Colossus was the greatest thing ever. Then I started playing games this gen and found Prince of Persia [2008], Mirror's Edge, Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Just Cause 2 and plenty others that I think are better.

Hmmm,I don´t know about anything,he did DX: Invisible War as well...:P
although many of the decisions were made by Harvey Smith,Spector was leading the project as well...
Invisible war is amazing, just not AS amazing as the first game ;) Small levels and unified ammo are the only really -bad- things, which were down to the Xbox and there is nothing anyone could've done about that. At the end of the day they don't totally break the game, but it does stop it from reaching the dizzying heights of the first.

Let's hope E.Y.E is the game we are looking for!

agreed, I do think IW has better story and characters, the original had better gameplay.

I could never get into Majora's Mask.

I also agree there's no true "greatest game ever", although I usually just say Ocarina.

For me, it depends on my mood, really.

Sometimes, its what kind of game and what kind of story I want.

For me, I have one for each genre.

RPG: Persona 4

Adventure: Ocarina of Time

Shooter: Half-Life 2

Horror: Dead Space

Action: DMC 3

Get out.

I'm just kidding, I actually really like the way you phrased that second part.

Sorry, I disagree completely. It's a shorter game, the world is smaller, the 3-day time thing gets annoying, the characters are basically recycled from OOT, the bosses aren't as memorable or nowhere near as good, and neither are the temples, the story just isn't as good.

I could keep going.

Go ahead, keep going.

Its a darker, more mature game that goes beyond just surface-personality NPC's and actually shows you their daily lives and they play a far greater role than just place fillers to make the world seem populated. You actually feel for the NPC's and even the main villain instead of just fulfilling a generic "epic quest" role.

A small detailed world is far greater than a large, empty world. The three-day time is an essential part of the story and world design, and it may be annoying to some, but it is essential to the main gameplay mechanic... and honestly, makes the Ocarina of Time much more of an integral part of the game world.

You must not have played very much of MM, because the only characters that are "recycled" are those that appeared in the first game... and it being a direct sequel to OoT, I'm not surprised they "reused" a few of the good ones. Play past the first few quests and start to see where the real characters are hiding, and even find out that ones you knew, show off a lot more than you might think.

The temples in OoT were good, that much I can admit, but their structure was far too straight-forward, and way too formulaic. At least they tried varying things up in MM and making it more about adventure than following a set formula (find map, compass, big key, item and beat boss with item).

The story was one of the greatest stories to not only ever grace a Nintendo game, but all of gaming. I have to admit, I haven't finished the game yet, but it is far better than anything Nintendo has ever concocted, and probably ever will. It is dark, mature and gritty in a way I didn't think Nintendo was capable of... and it broke so many molds, I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't made more games like it since.

It is an outstanding game that totally squashes OoT into the ground in terms of quality, originality and design. OoT might be the greatest cliche Zelda to ever exist, but Majora's Mask is the greatest Zelda to ever exist... and more people seem to miss out on its greatness than realize it. Same with games like Prince of Persia [2008].
