What is the greatest Xbox console of all time? (56k) (1 Day Left)

In celebration of the new generation of gaming, welcome to the third thread in a series of three, that will try to determine each company's legacy. Last up, the newcomers in town who took the industries by the balls, and for good or for bad, reshaped it in their image- Microsoft.

Microsoft's Xbox is the youngest line of consoles currently on the market, just over a decade and two consoles old. Given that, then, you would expect their contributions to the medium to be significantly lesser than either Playstation or Nintendo. However, in just this short span of time, Xbox has revolutionized the console industry, from third party relations, to console hardware architecture, to the importance of online gaming, to standardized console UI and OS, to social features like Friends Lists and Achievements.

All that said, which Xbox console do you think was the best one? A brief refresher for those who might need it:

360 was much better

it's a wash in my opinion because the old school box had a great great library and was probably out before its time the way it came with it's monster graphics (at the time). the 360 revolutionized the way we play. xbl has been a massive state of the arts online service since basically it's inception.

The Xbox has some more noteworthy exclusives in terms of heavy hitters: Specifically the first two Halo games and Ninja Gaiden Black(one of my favorite games of all time). But the 360's library just has more depth and variety to it. Plus you have all the stuff that came out on XBLA as well as the indie game stuff that came out of XNA before Microsoft botched that up. Plus the 360's lineup of exclusives has some gems(Viva Pinata, Nuts and Bolts, PGR 4) in between some legit really good stuff like Gears of War, Forza 3, and the like. jg4xchamp

I have way more games for the 360, but I had way more fun with the Xbox. Nothing beat Halo CE lan parties, Halo 2's online mp, NFL 2K5, Ninja Gaiden, Kotor, etc. It's definitely my favorite console of gen 6.

Easily the 360. The Xbox has got some excellent games though.

I guess the xbox 360 is the lesser of two evils... Should almost remake poll to "which is not the worst xbox console of all time". At least when looking at the games compare to Nintendo & Sony's history. 

Despite not owning it, I actually think the first Xbox had the better games in it's time.

Technically, the 360 has more games because of all the exclusives that Sony couldn't manage to keep, the online is better and the machine kind of became the de facto standard video game box thingy in 'Morica, the UK and other countries. The original Xbox, however, had several key exclusives (some of themshared with the PC, of course) that just aged better than, say, Gears of War. Those Sega games, that exclusive (PC/Xbox) Morrowind and Knights of the Old Republic... Good stuff. Really good stuff. 

I'd say 360 but a few users have said there are a bunch of hidden gems on the xbox. I'd like to know what games they're talking about.

I use mine as a Media box with a 1TB HDD xD

original xbox still is better,  state of emergency gta san andreas chase pgr jet set radio segA GT  , man so kills that halo gears forza combo we recieve on a yrly basis 

Honestly,  as much as I continue to adore that masterpiece that is the original xbox,  the 360 was their game changer.  Its one of my favorite consoles of all time.

Xbox 360 = lots of great games and lots of exclusives.

360 destroys the original. The first one only had a handful of good exclusives and most of them were remade (some even going multiplat) this gen.

How exactly did the xbox revolutionize the gaming console industry? Only thing I see that they really contributed is the idea of achievements/trophies. That comment fails. What was so revolutionizing about the PlayStation brand again?

360 is objectively better, but I much preffered the Xbox.

Ninja Gaiden Black + Halo 2 + Strangers Wrath + Chaos Theory.  Those 4 games alone made the Xbox more enjoyable than the 360 imo.
