[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]I like the flow of NG2 combat much better. Sue me.Wiimotefan
Thats fine, you enjoy the feel more. Â But it is false to say that NGB is unreliable, or stiff. Â Thats all I'm saying. Â Its widely considered the best action game of all time and the game has been fully disected by many over the many years its been out. Â There is nothing unreliable about it.
Which is odd that you went on to praise NG2 afterwards (excellent game) because NG2 is very cheap and unreliable. Â Enemies can auto cancel their moves and just destroy you and its out of the players control.
And excusing a flaw by saying a player doesn't know how to play the game is bullshit. Obviously if I always had full view of the action, I wouldn't feel the need for better camera control. By necessity, God of War had this nailed right up until the chimp they brought on for God of War Ascension took over. If your game has ideal camera angles, and especially if you don't give the player control over them, it's on you to provide the ideal gameplay experience and balance in everything else second. You can't blame the player for "not doing it right".darkspineslayer
I dont see how its bullshit. Â If you dont understand how a major aspect of the gameplay works then how is it the games fault that you had a bad experience? Â This isnt a flaw in the game, but a lack of knowledge on your part. Â I could link to countless videos of people playing the game perfectly with no camera issues whatsoever.
Also this is another funny one regarding NG2 since the camea gets way closer to the action than in NGB and does cause moments that are out of the players control. Â It seems you managed to get the hang of the gameplay in NG2, maybe you should check out NGB/NGS again, I bet you'll have a change of heart.
I'm grateful they didnt use a camera like GoW. Â It takes you right out of the action and makes the battles much less visceral and exciting. Â Also unlike GoW, you really have to read the enemies movements in NG and timing is much more precise. Â With such a panned back and often limited angle view, that aspect of the game would really suffer.
I've bought the game three times now, NGB, NGS, and NGS+. I get a little farther each time, and a little better at the combat. The camera and platforming takes me right back out however.
