I love playing games that are creepy. What games have you guys the most pumped up for? For me its Alan Wake, RE5, and Alone in the Dark, although I bet it will stink. When are we going to be able to run into a room and kill a exorcist girl all evil looking with a M16? I want EXORCIST in the game, dont you guys?

STALKER: Clear Sky. It's technically not a survival-horror game, but between the lighting, the atmosphere and mutants, I'll be keeping some spare gitch nearby.

I found there was a couple scaryish moments. I guess it was more exhiliration, but they are similar, and this leaned to a more scared exhiliration.

Deadly Shadows was brilliant, The Cradle has to be one of the scariest levels ever.

I know, but the rest of the game was kinda meh, but the Shalebridge cradle was the best level I have played in a Thief game, ok I'll tie that level up with the guy who built is house all upside down and backwards in the first Thief. That was kinda scary too.

Definately not Silent Hill 5. Alone in the Dark looks promising, but the clear winner is RE5.

These, and Alone in the Dark at the end of this month as well. And TC, a game that reached the levels of horror that the Exorcist captured would be quite an achievement for a game indeed. And of course, it would not work if you were just some priest reciting scriptures, lol. It would have to be done in a survival horror fashion that drives you to the point of pure desperation in trying to figure out how to prevent yourself from going completely mad (in the game of course, lol).

With that, imagine encountering possessed individuals that sound like this real, actual recording of the exorcism of the girl that 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' was based on. (If you freak out easy, I advise you not to listen, lol):

Fatal Frame IV and Alone in Dark Wii(through it probably won't be scary as the 360, PS3, and PC version).

Siren and Fatal Frame should be really scary.

I'm really looking forward to RE5,but you can hardly call it horror anymore.

Glad to see everyone's mentioning Fatal Frame IV and Dead Space. Took those two straight from my head you did! And I can only imagine what Suda 51 can do with with his support in the next Fatal Frame. The results should prove to be..... interesting.

Meowing little boys are much more scarier than a guy with a chainsaw. Anything scary involving children is very scary.

Are you for serious?

I guess some people are really scared by that stuff. Most Japanese horror I know seems more like comedy. Meowing little boys, burping girls, people that craw around all funny like, all gives me good lulz.

Now that I think about it, little boys do seem a little more scary then full-grown men. It's just the fact that they seem to know wherever you are hiding, don't provide any clues to how you're going to die, and how quiet they really increases the creepiness factore. Maybe I just think these things because big hulking giants in horror have become slightly overused.

I'm psyched up for Silent Hill Homecoming and Resident Evil 5, even though RE5 so far looks to be more of RE4 which wasn't survival horror in the least bit. Though after reading the Game Informer preview where they hinted at possible flashbacks to fill in the ten year gap from Code Veronica to 5 which might be playable sections featuring classic RE zombies. Which if thats true and not just a rumor it would be the best game ever. SH5 looks sweet and the upcoming Alone in the Dark looks like it will hold me over till atleast September when Silent Hill comes out as there is no word on RE5's release yet, Capcoms saying sometime before March and the lead developer wants an 08 release to coincide with the game taking place in 08.

Yea they look so innocent, but are demons or have demons in them. If i had to choose a road with 2 choices chainsaw guy or some little kids who look like the ghost from jpn horror give me the chainsaw. I swear little ghost kids singing or going la la la la la laaa. Is 10x scarier then a chainsaw dude. It gets in your head.

I think I'm just more scared of things that can actually happen. And usaully Japanese horror is so unrealistic, that it's giggle worthy.

If it is anything like the first game and the graphical upgrades work well, I will bet that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky will either match or surpass its predecessor (though technically Clear Sky is a prequel) in terms of "scariness." Which was a LOT.

Alone in the Dark 5 is the nearest, then Fatal Frame 4 and Left 4 Dead look the best IMO. L4D look like on of the tensest experiences ever.
