Honestly, Final Fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of Final Fantasy games and RPGs in general, but they get really out of hand.Skittles_McGee
Final Fantasy is getting pretty bad now with all the ports to the DS and PSP. But mario is now just milked to death, I am glad Mario had a good game though (Galaxy) come out this gen.

Mario does get milked badly, but at least the milkage goes to different genres.Final Fantasy on the other hand.. well... I didn't want to play Crystal Chronicles the first time, while in the hell did they think I'd want to play it the second time? Or third :|

Final Fantasy. 13 main games, half of which have been remade or re-released, some of which more than once, countless spin offs spanning consoles, handhelds and mobile phones. There are so many out there that we don't even know exist.
But then again, Wii has only been out for 2 years and already has Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper mario, Super Mario Strikers, Mario Super Sluggers, Mario Party 8, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Mario Kart Wii and Dr Mario :|
I think even Mega Man tops FF in amount of games... And Mario obviously trounces both, like I said not even closeFinal Fantasy. 13 main games, half of which have been remade or re-released, some of which more than once, countless spin offs spanning consoles, handhelds and mobile phones. none....They would not make the games if the fans did not want themHarlockJC
Just FYI, I have 7MB Roadrunner Cable and your sig somehow bogs down the site when I scroll to your message. Anywhere else in this thread the scrolling runs smoothly, but across your message the whole thing gets choppy and acts like a 56k. :) Just FYI.
Anyways, I think Mario is definitely the most milked. Although I enjoyed my share of Mario games back in the day, they're just getting to be rubbish at this point...
There's one franchised that is the most milked that isn't listed; Megaman. People are quick to over look the Megaman franchise, but they release consistently poor to mediocre titles on a consistent basis.
Megaman 9 is just the first to break the mold.
Almost all of Mario's spin-offs are good, I'd say. Yeah, I know everyone hates Mario Party, but talk to some people who don't regularly play video games and are younger, and they LOVE it. Seriously, they really do. I know it's not good to most people here on this forum, but you can't say it's a bad game in general when SO MANY people enjoy it.
I'd say any sports titles, really. Also, I owned all the first generation The Sims games, and all of the expansions to the original ones weren't anything big. They were cheaper, though, so that was good. But they kind of didn't add enough to justify the purchase, in my opinion. And I owned all of 'em. Then The Sims 2 came along, and that was the last one I bought...
I wouldn't really consider any of those milked. Hear me out on this.
For one sports games are always going to get yearly new games its just how they are and i'm fine with it really. if the game isnt up to snuff then just skip it that year.
Mario games dont really get milked because they arent all side scrolling platformers and each new game has something new. 64 was 3d platforming, then sunshine had its innovations with the water pack and cleaning stuff and galaxy with its really innovative gravity gameplay and level design. Just because mario is in it and then theres all the spin offs dont mean its milking. its more of a brand than a series.
Same goes with FF. The FF name is more of a brand each game is a completely new story with new characters and settings. The gameplay changes pretty often too. Again this is just the FF name across a bunch of games..
True milking? right now id say the Call of Duty series for sure..It has to be the leader.
[QUOTE="SpinoRaptor"]have you ever played any of the great 3 (FF7-9)?Mario and FF.
God I'm so sick of FF.
footfoe2
No. A couple of my friends are huge FF fanboys and one day they let me borrow a FF game (Can't remember which one it was...) The cutscenes and dialogue were so long that I couldn't stand playing it anymore.
Why do they call it Final Fantasy if they keep making sequels for it?SpinoRaptor
Long story short, the original Final Fantasy was named that because the developer at the time thought it'd be his last game.
