Seriously Game Informer's December issue names D.K.C. Game of the Month over the likes of Fallout: New Vegas, Fable 3, Call of Duty: Black Op's,

Assasins Creed: Brotherhood and even God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

I mean what is going on here Donkey Kong Country and Kirby's Epic Yarn are like the two highest scoring games in this latest Game Informer issue with both of them scoring

9.5's higher than the above listed games.

So again i ask, What is the world coming to ?

Epic Yarn is an awesome game and frankly I think that while I wouldn't give it a 9.5, it can easily hold its own against everything that came out recently. Never played DK so no comment. I don't see anything about AC:B, or COD that should make me go nuts. That said, GI is a terrible magazine so I don't hold much weight in what they have to say.

Have you even played any of the Donkey Kong Country games? Because you sound really ignorant right now. That is like saying, "OMG Mario Galaxy 2 got a higher rating than Dead Space and Fable III!" Umm yeah your point? DKCR look phenomenal and Retro always makes high quality games. This is one of my most anticpated games this year no doubt.

Maybe unlike those run-of-the-mill games that have been recycling the same formula all generation long... DKCR is actually something refreshing?

I'd say them giving it game of the month shows us that there are still gamers out there who appreciate quality games that aren't entirely formulaic and "modern." I for one welcome this 2D renaissance.

Lol all eras are great! I dont see why people must pick one! I have a few favorite games from each era. 2 on the SNES are A Link To The Past and Super Metroid. 2 on last gen are...ok so I did not award any games a 10 last gen....BUT two of my favorites are Wind Waker and Tales of Symphonia :P. The only gen I just don't like as much is NES because its SO archaic you can only do so much with it.

What about my 2 10's from that gen? Super Metroid is not a platformer, and A Link to The Past is neither of those. Both some of the best games ever made.

I am probably one of thee oldest gamers in here, i'm 41 to be exact and have been gaming for over 30 years, and actually i love Nintendo and all there 1st party titles, but i'm just in shock that these mega titles like Fable 3 and CoD: B.O. and Fallout: N.V are ranked second and third to Donkey Kong Country and Kirby's Epic Yarn, oooh god i can hardly type it without gagging, it's unbelievable, guess i under estimated Nintendo again.Slimmin360

Well considering you can't have played all of them to make the comparison I don't see how it is your place to complain? oh right yeah SW, were we complain about games we haven't even played and claim they are inferior to our recent purchases.

It's a GREAT game. Get over it. What makes you think it doesn't deserve it? The lack of guns? cursing? 3d?

That's a funny thing to say considering the fact that this gen has been flooded with FPS games.

DKC are great games. I don't have a Wii but I'm sure it would be a damn fun game to play. I see no problem with this (provided DKCWii is as lengthy and difficult as the originals were).

God forbid if a good old fashioned fun game gets Game of the month instead of a Generic FPS.

whats wrong with that? dkcr is actually one of those wii games that makes me wanna get a wii. i loved the dk series on snes, and this looks even better! wud love to play it sometime

Apparently one that thinks a "mature" setting makes a game better...OR...One that thinks sidescrollers cannot be as good as 3D games...OR...one that....idk just has really bad taste in games :P.

They aint lookin so biased towards Nintendo anymore are they :P

GI has it's flaws,but it's a decent Magazine....it's no EGM,but I like them alot more than Gamepro.

It's been pretty well known that Nintendo has been the top developer for a long time. There was a few years where Rareware was the absolute best dev in the business, but it's back to Nintendo again.

i don't know, but that donkey kong game shouldn't even be compared to the games you mentioned, it's a whole different standard, it's 2D ffs.
