Kirby's Epic Yarn is great fun, and Donkey Kong Country Returns looks like a barrel of fun. Can't wait to play it! I have to agree with their opinions on this one.

i don't know, but that donkey kong game shouldn't even be compared to the games you mentioned, it's a whole different standard, it's 2D ffs.
Dead-Memories
There is no such differing standard.
you must be really disillusioned if you believe a wii game can be held to the same standard as next-gen titles like black ops and assassin's creed :lol:Oh, yes, I'm sure you could come up with one real way that games on 360 and PS3 are inherently better than Wii games. Come on, I'm waiting.
Have you ever considered they might be really good games? I have Kirby's Epic Yarn and it's one of the most polished and fun games I've played in years. It doesn't matter what machine a game is on, or how powerful some other consoles are, a great game is a great game and obviously G.I. thinks DKCR is a great game.Seriously Game Informer's December issue names D.K.C. Game of the Month over the likes of Fallout: New Vegas, Fable 3, Call of Duty: Black Op's,
Assasins Creed: Brotherhood and even God of War: Ghost of Sparta.
I mean what is going on here Donkey Kong Country and Kirby's Epic Yarn are like the two highest scoring games in this latest Game Informer issue with both of them scoring
9.5's higher than the above listed games.
So again i ask, What is the world coming to ?
Slimmin360
What is the world coming to?
It's been pretty well known that Nintendo has been the top developer for a long time. There was a few years where Rareware was the absolute best dev in the business, but it's back to Nintendo again.
Raymundo_Manuel
I completely agree, if you are refering to N64-Rare. If you compile a list of Rare and Nintendo games made for N64, uneducated people will have a hard time to set them apart.
Oh no, a great game you haven;t played and are hating on for no reason has won Game of the Month because it happens to be better then other games that month. Really, what is the world coming to when quality is measured properly?

Glad that its getting reviews, and glad that the hatters got converted. :D
aint nothing wrong with dkc you hater ..
just jealous lol , big deal , it is time nintendo get some respect around here, and they got mine ,
how dare ea ship nfs hotpursuit without split screen ,
on 360 ps3, they should pay me 30 bucks back , them rip offs- 60 bucks and all they got is singleplayer and online-which lags and lags and lags ,
DKC games happen to be some of the best games ever made If you had SNES you had DKC.
I haven't got a wii game in forever this game happens to be my most looked forward game.

you must be really disillusioned if you believe a wii game can be held to the same standard as next-gen titles like black ops and assassin's creed :lol:Why can't they? I had just as much fun playing games like Epic Yarn and SMG2 as I did Red Dead and Reach? I don't need to pump someone full of bullets or have graphics that blow my mind to have fun all the time. Sure I'm having a blast with Black Ops right now, but I'll set it aside while I play Donkey Kong next week
I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to DKCR more than all of those other games combined. And I'm a huge Fallout fan, so that's saying something.
[QUOTE="kontejner44"]and DKR is stuck in the SNES era thank you!HD games may look good but gameplay wise they are stuck in the PS2/Xbox/GC era.
Vinegar_Strokes
[QUOTE="EliteKitteh"]are you including SMG2 in that rehash crap. as that is as much a rehash as black ops or AC brotherhood.DKCR is better than all that rehashed crap

stop the fanboy hate. DKC is going to be awesome. AC3, GOW may be good games, but they are just rehashes of last years games. atleast there hasnt been a DKC game in 15+ years. and im sure DKC will have more challnge and replay then both mentioned games. da_chubso its just a rehash of a 15+ year old game then. how is that any better.

And yet, here you are defending Black Ops.
i suppose DKC falls under the generic label then as that is neither unique or specialdog_dirt

Super Meat Boy
Well i have to say i do agree with you there, we certainly have enough shooters on the market, and besides i must admit D.K.C and K.E.Y does look like fun, but not quite enough fun to make me trade my 360 for a Wii. However i will make it a point to play both those games in the near future.God forbid if a good old fashioned fun game gets Game of the month instead of a Generic FPS.
Kandlegoat
You mad because a great game is coming out for another system while you get stuck with a piece of garbage camera that barely picks up your movements and have to give up buying a game just so that you can play online for a year?
Maybe they really like platformers. opinions differ and some of us have to be a minority.
Hell, most of the AAA games seem rather bad (or at least not amazing) to me.

How exactly is it a rehash? Idk how the hell you rehash a 15 year old game...

Says the guy defending a Call of Duty game.
This is pathetic.
Just because it's a Wii game, it can't be good? And how is it a rehash when Call of Duty gets recycled every year to attend to their rabid fanboys?
Rehash: To bring forth again in another form without significant alterations; To rework, reuse, or make over
As much as i want DKCR its technically considered a rehash. I mean Rehash is not a bad term. The game will be amazing wether or not people think its a rehash or not.
You obviously haven't seen much of it then. It looks fresh and different from the rest of the series. The level design is amazing.
Super Meat Boy you are comparing super meat boy with donkey kong country? both games are awesome but the gameplay is very different, is like half life against halo reach (imo)[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]
I lol'd. Nice try though, but you failed to even address my question in the slightest. What makes CoD special? DKCR is a 2.5D platformer, something we don't see very much of this gen, let alone massively high-quality stuff. It is also the first DK platformer since DK64 on the N64, and the first DK 2D platformer since DKC3 on the SNES. So its been well over a decade since we have seen something of this calibre. When did the last CoD come out? Oh, that's right, last year. And have people stopped talking about it? Yep, now everyone is talking about Black Ops. People still talk about the greatness of DKC on the SNES, and the things its done for the 2D platformer genre.
Can you name another 2D platformer that has come out in the past little while on par with DKCR? And Kirby's Epic Yarn is a different type of game, it revolves around forms, rather than skill-in-jumping. If you can, and even if you can name 5, then you can maybe consider DKCR "generic." But until you do, it is definitely something both unique and special, as there is little like it this generation. While there are many generic, "modern warfare" military first-person shooters.h575309
