What is your favorite true exclusive this gen?

By true exclusive, I mean no ports. No Breath of the Wild, no Persona 5. It's gotta be a game that is exclusive to just one system. I think mine would have to be Bloodborne. I love the art style and the twist on the classic Dark Souls gameplay. Was definitely the most fun "souls" game I played. I hope that they make a sequel. How about you, SW? Favorite true exclusive this gen?

Let's make a glossary to define every type of exclusive.

Bloodborne, followed by SMO.

No other "true" exclusive has really been great. Most of the best games these days are multiplats.

Company exclusives are what we should really be looking at.

All MS exclusives get released on X1 and Windows, so there will never be any "true" exclusives by the OP's definition since MS owns two gaming platforms.

The same goes for Nintendo, where they essentially have two consoles out this gen with similar graphical capabilities, so a lot of games saw releases on both.

Bloodborne. It's the best souls game by far, imo.

But anyway, going by OP's definition of only being available on a single piece of hardware, I'd probably go with Sunset Overdrive.

I think I would have to go with 'Empyrion - Galactic Survival' for this generation. 'Wurm' for any generation

Hopefully these won't be exclusive forever though since they're such good games.

I hate exclusives and see no reason to take any sort of gratification in them. "Oh, look at me, I can play X game on my console and you can't, nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah!" This type of behavior is something that five year olds are already starting to grow out of, and yet we have an entire adult industry centered around it. File under: why I have zero faith in humanity.

This is System Wars. So...... yeah. It wouldn't be interesting if we didn't act like 5-year olds. It's no accident System Wars is the most popular section of GS. ;)

True, Bloodborne is a true exclusive... until it shows up on PS Now, then it's no longer an exclusive, then sadly no longer worth playing because then it'll just be another mediocre multiplat. =P

Anyhow, I need to play this, still haven't, played through Dark Souls II & III this gen but still haven't with Bloodborne. I don't have PS+ so I feel I'm missing something without online connectivity. But, I guess it can be solo played. But, Nioh is probably more fit for that approach.

if thats not exclusive enough since its coming to consoles i'll say Total War: Warhammer 2 or Total war Attila (like both about equal)

Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown. Neither are officially released yet, though. Slay the Spire is also quite good. Grim Dawn was also awesome.

Oh, I didn't know Divinity: OS 2 was an exclusive to PC. Definitely Divinity OS 2. Unless it's a timed exclusive?

Arma 3, BOTW, CIV6. I havent gotten around to Grim Dawn or Divinity 2 yet but ill get there, too much to play and KCD is taking longer than it should due to having to reload 6+ hour old saves because of bugged/stuck quests. I am enjoying it though.

Probably BOTW, although I absolutely hate the weapon breakage.

That will probably change when I finally get around to playing Mario: OD, those games are generally consistently better.
