The Dreamcast. It only lasted one year but it had one of the best launch lineups ever.

This.

If the Dreamcast counts then certainly that. Failure or not it is my favourite console and have some of my best gaming memories with it.

The vita. Best handheld ever made.

Well, until switch... Still. Vita is a beast.

@getyeryayasout: rogue aces is legit pick up and play madness... A tiny little game with more lasting power than some games I've payed full price for. Awesome stuff brother!

I'm close to my first full playthtough of dark souls! I actually feel pretty lame having touted gameplay being a major factor in gaming all these years and not fully experiencing this masterpiece... Just A few more bosses....

Strange to think the psp is regarded as a failure when it sold 80 million.

I actually owned a TurboGrafx-16. Not my smartest purchase in hindsight, but it did have a few of its own unique gems among its (faux) 16-bit library including; Bonk's Adventure, Blazing Lazers, Dungeon Explorer, Alien Crush, Dragon Spirit, Psychosis, the Sherlock Holmes CD game and Ys Book 1 and 2 in a CD remaster.

Despite its primitive graphics, I think the audio track of Ys intro still holds up today. *namely the first half, not the J-pop that follows, lol.

@Oemenia: to be fair when releasing power figures Nintendo chose to stick with real world scenarios that the system could actually attain while Ms and Sony used theoretical maximums that would never be obtained in actual game development. The xbox and gc were pretty close in power with the ps2 a fair ways behind.

Let me guess, RE4 was more impressive than Doom 3...

@Oemenia:

RE4 isnt really the showcase game for gamecube.

Imo its Mario Sunshine, F- Zero GX, and Rogue Leader(and a few others that slip my mind, i think.)

I love the Sega CD, Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast. The GameCube is up there too. Those consoles all had incredibly unique libraries. They sure don’t make em like they used to...

Dreamcast is cool.

I dunno if it's really "failed," but I loved the gamecube.
